Although there was no profit of tens of thousands of billions of VND, after 3 quarters of 2023, the market witnessed the strong rise of HDBank and VIB Bank when these two banks surpassed the "giant" VPBank in terms of profit.
Accordingly, in the first 9 months of 2023, HDBank's pre-tax profit reached more than VND 8,600 billion, an increase of 8% compared to 2022. VIB also "accelerated" with pre-tax profit reaching more than VND 8,300 billion, an increase of 7% over the same period last year.
While its main “competitors” are accelerating, VPBank is showing signs of “recession”. In the past 9 months, VPBank's pre-tax profit only reached VND 8,279 billion, down 58% compared to the same period in 2022. VPBank is also being fiercely pursued by Sacombank and MSB Bank as the profit indicators of these two banks are still increasing.
According to financial reports of the units, out of 23 banks, 13 banks have decreased accumulated profits, 9 banks have increased accumulated profits and 1 bank is losing hundreds of billions of dong.
