Fierce matches in the MMA Championship final night

The Lion MMA Championship 2023 on the evening of December 9 at Quan Ngua Sports Palace (Hanoi) took place with exciting final matches. In the men's 84kg championship match, Tran Quoc Toan (Vietnam Fight Club) competed with Pham Cong Minh (Wushu King).

In round 2, Cong Minh was still very proactive in using combinations of punches and kicks while his opponent tried to close the gap to execute punches. Tran Quoc Toan was really stubborn in defense, especially against knee strikes at the end of the round.

In the first minute of round 3, Cong Minh successfully knocked Quoc Toan down and continuously executed accurate punches. The match ended at 57 seconds in round 3, Pham Cong Minh became the champion of the men's 84kg class with a technical knockout victory.

The men's 70kg championship match between Ban Van Hoang (Wushu King) and Kamil Michal Nguyen Van (Vietnam Top Team) was full of drama. Kamil quickly knocked down Van Hoang from a cage-leaning situation at the beginning of the round.

In the following developments, the representative of Vietnam Top Team twice had good control positions but he failed to successfully convert the opportunities into victories.

In the second round, Kamil continued to have the advantage in the first minute, immediately after that he successfully performed the choke technique. The match stopped at 1 minute 34 seconds, Kamil Michal Nguyen Van won the men's 70kg championship belt with a victory by technical points.

In the men's 65kg title defense match, Nghiem Van Y (Wushu King) competed with Felipe Ventzki Negochadle (C88 Martial Arts F&Y Center). The match was brought to the ground after Negochadle's successful pick-up in the first minute of round 1.

Immediately after that, the C88 representative had a good control position to execute a series of punches. The match was brought back to a standing position by the referee after Felipe executed an illegal elbow strike. In the last minute, Nghiem Van Y attempted an arm-breaking technique but unfortunately he was unsuccessful.

In the beginning of the second round, Felipe entered a guillotine choke but Van Y successfully defended. Immediately after that, Felipe continued to have good control but his punches were not successful.

In round 3, Van Y moved widely to keep his distance. He had 3 accurate flying knees to respond to his opponent's wrestling efforts. The Wushu King representative's hand and knee strikes made Felipe have to consider his attacks.

In the fourth round, Van Y continued to move to keep his distance and perform single strikes. At 3 minutes and 37 seconds, Felipe successfully performed an arm-breaking technique after Van Y's previous defense. Felipe Ventzki Negochadle won the men's 65kg championship by winning on points.
