Among the levels of punishment for candidates violating the regulations of the high school graduation exam this year, the lightest is reprimand and the most severe is suspension from the exam, similar to last year.
Accordingly, candidates will be reprimanded if they look at or exchange papers with another candidate once during the exam. They will have 25% of their exam score deducted .
If a candidate has been reprimanded once but continues to look at, exchange test papers or scratch paper, copy other candidates' work or let others copy his/her work, he/she will be warned and have 50% of his/her score deducted .
Candidates will be suspended from the graduation exam if they have been warned once, but continue to violate the regulations during the exam at the level of reprimand or warning.
Candidates who bring in unauthorized items such as documents, information transmission and storage devices; take out exam questions or receive answers from outside; write or draw on the exam paper irrelevant content; act aggressively, threaten those responsible for the exam or threaten other candidates, will also be suspended from the exam.
This group also includes candidates who do not follow the instructions of the invigilators when moving to the waiting room and during their time there. This is the room for those who finish the test early.
Suspended candidates must submit their papers, exam questions, and scratch paper to the invigilator and leave the room immediately after the decision is made.
If a candidate is suspended from the exam in any year, all of his/her exam results will be canceled , meaning that he/she will not be recognized as a high school graduate. Last year, 50 students violated the regulations and were suspended from the exam. Of these, 6 students brought and used documents, and 44 others brought and used phones in the exam room.

In addition to the above forms of handling, during the marking process, if the examiner discovers that a candidate's test has marks, the candidate will also have 50% of the total score deducted.
The examiner will give 0 points to papers copied from documents brought into the examination room illegally, papers with two or more papers for one subject, papers written by two or more people, and parts of the paper written on scrap paper or paper that does not comply with regulations. If two or more papers are given 0 points for these reasons, the exam results will be canceled .
Candidates who write or draw on the test paper content unrelated to the test, let others take the test or do the test for others; correct or add to the test after submitting it, or use someone else's test to submit it will also have their results canceled.
Candidates will have their exam results canceled and their records will be sent to the competent authority for consideration and handling according to the provisions of law if they falsify their records to enjoy preferential or incentive benefits; use illegal diplomas or certificates; let others take the exam or take the test for them; cause disturbances or sabotage the exam; or assault others during the exam.
The 2023 high school graduation exam will take place on June 28-29 with more than one million candidates. Candidates must take three independent tests: Math, Literature, Foreign Language, and two combined tests: Natural Sciences (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) and Social Sciences (History, Geography, Civic Education for candidates studying the general education program; or History, Geography for candidates studying the continuing education program).
Last year, the graduation rate was 98.57%.
