The exhibition includes 3 contents: All for the front line, Opening the way to unification, The country is full of joy...
In the content "All for the frontline", the enthusiastic atmosphere of Northern youth joining the army and the spirit of all for the South are recreated with the movements "Three ready", "Three capable", and the emulation movement "All for the beloved South, each person works as two".
The public was shown some documents and images showing the enthusiasm of the young people participating in the "Three Ready" movement, namely: Comrade Dang Hong Son, a student of Chu Van An High School (Hanoi) who joined the army in 1965. In 1968, he was captured by the enemy, imprisoned at Ho Nai Prison (Bien Hoa), then exiled to Phu Quoc Prison Camp and died on February 20, 1971. Or comrade Lam Van Bang, a worker at the Ha Dong Department of Transportation, who used his blood to write a petition to go to the South to fight in 1965. He was captured by the enemy and imprisoned at Chi Hoa Prison, Ho Nai (Bien Hoa), Phu Quoc and was released on February 18, 1973.

This content also includes images of the youth volunteers of Group 559 (established on May 19, 1959) breaking mountains to open roads, ensuring traffic arteries for troops to go to the South.
The second exhibition – “Opening the way to unification” – is about the fierce images of the resistance war but the spirit of our army and people remained steadfast. Since 1968, the Tet Offensive and Uprising created a major turning point, moving the revolutionary war in the South to a period of decisive victory. In December 1972, the “Dien Bien Phu in the Air” Campaign won, forcing the US to sit at the negotiating table, signing the Paris Agreement, creating a new turning point in the resistance war against the US, saving the nation – a premise for the complete liberation of the South, unification of the country.
In the exhibition section “The Country is Full of Joy” is the image of the victory of the entire Party, the entire people and the entire army in the 1975 Spring General Offensive. On April 30, 1975, the Ho Chi Minh Campaign achieved complete victory, ending the long and arduous resistance war to save the country in the history of the Vietnamese people against foreign invaders. The streets were filled with the red color of flags and flowers. The faces were radiant, the hugs were tight, joyfully welcoming the great festival.
Continuing the proud history
Present at the exhibition, Mr. Lam Van Bang, a former revolutionary soldier who wrote a blood letter to fight on the Southern battlefield, shared: “When looking at the artifacts and scenes, memories of the past came flooding back. I remember the passionate youth, full of enthusiasm to contribute to the fight for the beloved South. All of us young people at that time were filled with revolutionary spirit and high determination to gain national independence. Later, with the same spirit for the Fatherland, for my comrades and for the younger generation, I continued to go to the South and the North to collect artifacts and documents about the resistance war for national independence.”

Up to now, although he is over 80 years old and has a 1/4 disability, but with a spirit of always being ready, for many years, Mr. Lam Van Bang and his teammates have been traveling to provinces and cities, collecting more than 5,000 souvenirs, building the Museum of Revolutionary Soldiers imprisoned by the enemy in his hometown of Phu Xuyen (Hanoi).
"My biggest wish when building the Museum is to make sure the young generation never forgets the nation's history, thereby increasing their responsibility to the country," Mr. Bang said emotionally.
Sharing the same emotion, Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong, a former youth volunteer of Group 559, recalled the time she and her teammates "broke mountains to open roads" from 1963 to 1968 in Quang Binh. "Those were fierce and arduous years. We took turns digging roads, transporting military supplies, food... We weak women always encouraged each other to maintain our fighting spirit, all for the South", Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong shared.

The exhibition “Song of Peace” brings many interesting experiences to viewers. In addition to images, documents, and artifacts, the Organizing Committee also recreates the cave complex on Truong Son Road, vividly recreating the arduous but resilient life of soldiers, doctors, and young volunteers who stay day and night in the wild forests and poisonous waters, regardless of danger to maintain the traffic flow on the vital route.
In addition, the scene reenacting the story of the rescue of 8 youth volunteers on Road 20 Quyet Thang in Son Trach Commune, Bo Trach District, Quang Binh Province who were trapped in a cave in 1972 moved many viewers.
The exhibition “Song of Peace” not only pays tribute to the heroic martyrs, patriotic and revolutionary soldiers who sacrificed for the Fatherland, but also contributes to fostering national pride, encouraging today’s young generation to be more confident on the path of protecting and developing the country. The exhibition lasts until May 31, 2025.
