Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoai An - Deputy Director of the Department of Tourism of Da Nang City said that in the first 9 months of this year, the city served 8.7 million overnight guests, an increase of 33.3% over the same period in 2023, exceeding the target of welcoming 8.4 million tourists in 2024. Of which, international visitors reached 3.2 million, an increase of 30.6%; domestic visitors reached 5.5 million, an increase of nearly 35% over the same period in 2023.

“2019 was the peak period of Da Nang tourism when it welcomed nearly 8.7 million visitors, including 3.5 million international visitors and 5.2 million domestic visitors, bringing in revenue of nearly 31 trillion VND. From now until the end of the year is the peak season for exploiting visitors from Northeast Asia, India, Northern Europe, America... so it is expected that Da Nang tourism will reach the milestone of 10 million visitors in 2024” - Ms. Hoai An shared.

Tourism continues to grow strongly, becoming a bright spot in Da Nang's economy, increasing the proportion of the service sector from 70.02% in the first 9 months of 2023 to 70.76% in the first 9 months of 2024. Notably, Sun World Ba Na Hills has just put into operation the third slide game with a high-end roller coaster system at the Fantasy indoor amusement park, worth 278 billion VND.

The construction industry and real estate business, after removing difficulties and obstacles in the capital market, administrative procedures, etc., also increased investment with growth rates of 215.6% and 19.4%, respectively.

A typical example is the Han River Tourist Service Area, a new symbol of the city, with a scale of 3,265 billion VND, implemented by Sun Group to date with more than 399 billion VND...

Currently, Da Nang is implementing many key projects such as investment projects to build Lien Chieu port; renovate and upgrade National Highway 14B through Da Nang; upgrade Da Nang Maternity and Pediatrics Hospital with a total investment of 789 billion VND; social housing apartment complex on Vu Mong Nguyen street with an investment of 224 billion VND, of which 119 billion VND has been implemented...

In the context of difficulties in attracting domestic investment, foreign direct investment (FDI) decreased by 18% compared to the same period in 2023, the above "pillars" helped Da Nang's GRDP in the third quarter of 2024 increase by 8.59% compared to the same period in 2023.

In the first 9 months of the year, the city's GRDP increased by 6.47%, the economic scale reached 111,589 billion VND, expanded by more than 11,726 billion VND, continuing to maintain the 17th position out of 63 provinces and cities and leading the South Central Coast region. High economic growth has contributed to Da Nang's city budget revenue in the first 9 months of the year reaching 19,112 billion VND, an increase of nearly 31% over the same period, completing the target for the whole year of 2024.
