From a deserted beach, full of white sand and casuarinas, but in just over 10 years, Hai Tien (currently Hai Tien beach tourist area, stretching from Hoang Phu commune to Hoang Truong commune), Hoang Hoa district, Thanh Hoa province, has "transformed" into a famous tourist destination of Thanh Hoa (only after Sam Son).
Hai Tien beach tourist area (Hoang Hoa district, Thanh Hoa province), one of the famous beach tourist destinations in Thanh Hoa
Hai Tien has a coastline of about 12 km, with a gently sloping sandy beach running from Hoang Phu commune to Hoang Truong commune, an ideal resting and bathing spot for tourists during the summer. This place currently has a system of motels and hotels that are invested in modernly and diversely, meeting all needs and customer segments.
However, due to "hot" development, while the planning is still lacking in synchronization, especially the roads, Hai Tien has many "cut" roads, curved, and unwillingly winding... These "softly curved" roads not only make the landscape less beautiful but also act as an obstacle "holding back" Hai Tien from breaking through.
Close-up of the "softly curved" roads in Hai Tien beach tourist area, Hoang Hoa district, Thanh Hoa province:
Hai Tien coastline is about 12 km long, however, there is currently only one large-scale invested road running close to the coast, starting from the boat anchorage area of Hoang Thanh commune to the central boat wharf area.
When reaching the marina area which is also the stage for organizing events, this road is suddenly blocked by kiosks built close to the shore.
In addition to the kiosks, there is also a large-scale resort that has been allocated land to invest in building structures close to the sea. Therefore, the road has to go around along the red lines.
The road on this side of the resort was also blocked, forcing us to go around.
At another point along Hai Tien beach, the road in front of Thoi Dung restaurant is straight, but after a while, it suddenly bends "softly" due to a construction project.
Not only does it make the road curve "unwillingly", it also shows signs of encroaching on the sea, causing the beach in this area to narrow significantly.
A resort was granted land near the coast of Hoang Truong commune, forcing the road near the coast to stop and go inward.
Even inside a road built from Hoang Thanh commune to Hoang Truong commune, there are many sections that are also "softly curved". In the photo, if the road ran straight, it would follow the red line, but it was built in a confusingly curved way.
Not only along the coast, but the main road leading down to the sea is also narrowed and then turns in a circle, creating a "bottleneck" when reaching the sea, making Hai Tien's appearance unsightly.
A series of houses (red arrow) that are subject to clearance to widen the road are almost blocking the way down to the sea. In the summer, when the number of tourists flocks, this place creates a "bottleneck" causing traffic congestion.
Looking up from the sea, you can see a series of houses that almost cover the entire road.
This is a road that Thanh Hoa province invested a huge amount of money in. It has 2 lanes from the National Highway 1A bypass down to the coast, but when it gets here, it narrows, creating a "bottleneck".
Besides the "soft curves" on the shore, there are also many curves on the beach when the dike line is "cut" in many parts, encroaching on the sea, so the beach has some convex and some concave areas.
The Hai Tien beach north of the wharf is full of protruding and receding points, causing the sandbank to narrow significantly, leaving no space for tourists to play and swim.
With the above shortcomings, if Hai Tien wants to become a key coastal city of the province as the set goal, it really needs to take strong and drastic actions.
