DNVN - Microsoft has just officially announced the second improvements to the Microsoft 365 Copilot tool, combining the web, work and pages into a completely new design system for the work environment.
Copilot Pages - the first new digital tool for the age of AI
Copilot is the new user interface for AI. And it all starts with Business Chat (BizChat), a hub that brings everything from web data, work data, to business data right into the user's workflow.
BizChat is a place where users can work with Copilot as a partner, unlocking the full value of all content in their organization, so every document becomes a reusable business asset. Today, we’re announcing Copilot Pages, a canvas within BizChat designed for multi-dimensional AI collaboration. This is the first step in a new design system.
Pages takes ephemeral AI-generated content and brings it to life, so users can edit, add to it, and share it with others. Users and their teams can collaborate on a page with Copilot, see everyone’s work in real time, and work with Copilot as a partner, adding more content from data, files, and the web. It’s a whole new way of working—multi-dimensional, human-AI-human collaboration.
For Microsoft 365 Copilot customers, Pages starts rolling out today and will be generally available later this month. In the coming weeks, the more than 400 million people who have access to Microsoft Copilot for free will experience Pages when they sign in with a Microsoft Entra account.
Boost Productivity with Copilot
Today, millions of people around the world do their work in Microsoft 365 apps. That's where Copilot becomes a daily assistant, enhancing personal productivity and saving time.
Microsoft announced Copilot in Excel, allowing users to work with unformatted data in a tabular format. The company also added new skills to harness the full power of Excel with support for more formulas like XLOOKUP and SUMIF; conditional formatting; and the ability to interact with Copilot on visuals like charts and PivotTables. In addition to numeric data, Copilot in Excel can now work with text...
Copilot in PowerPoint: Now available, the Narrative Builder in Microsoft PowerPoint lets you work with Copilot as a partner to create a first draft in minutes. Copilot uses prompts to build an outline with topics that you can edit and refine to create a first draft of your presentation. And with the Brand Manager, Copilot can use your company-branded templates and company-approved images from your organization’s SharePoint library.
Copilot in Teams: In today’s meetings, there are two important conversations, the one that happens in spoken language and the one that happens in chat. Copilot in Teams can now understand and combine content from both to provide a complete picture of what was discussed. This feature will be generally available this month.
Copilot in Outlook: With Prioritize my inbox, Copilot in Outlook helps users quickly identify important messages, analyzing their inbox based on both the content of the email and their role, such as who they report to and email threads they’ve responded to. No more wading through long messages, Copilot will automatically generate a concise summary of each email and include why it prioritizes that message. And soon, users will be able to teach Copilot specific topics, keywords, or people that are important, ensuring those emails are marked as high priority. These features will be in public preview starting in late 2024.
Copilot in Word: Coming later this month, Copilot in Word will let users quickly reference not only web and work data like Word, PowerPoint, PDF, and encrypted documents, but also data from emails and meetings. And it integrates this information right into users’ workflows, helping them get to the best first draft quickly.
Copilot in OneDrive: Copilot in OneDrive can quickly search all files for information, making it easy for users to get detailed information, summarize, and compare up to five files with a clear summary of the details and differences in the files—without opening the files. Copilot in OneDrive is rolling out now and will be available this month.
Add group members with Copilot agents
Accelerating any business process with Copilot to increase revenue and reduce costs is the best way to gain a competitive advantage in the age of AI. Now generally available, Copilot agents are AI assistants designed to automate and execute business processes, working with or for humans. They range from simple reminders, feedback, and replacing repetitive tasks to advanced, fully automated capabilities. Simple and secure to manage, all Copilot agents are compliant with Responsible AI and are committed to keeping your data never out of Microsoft 365 and everything in your tenant. You can also take advantage of pre-built agents like the new image agent and, soon, video.
To make building Copilot agents easier, Microsoft also announced the agent builder, a new, simplified experience powered by Copilot Studio. Anyone can create a Copilot agent right in BizChat or SharePoint.
Copilot agents and the agent builder in BizChat will be rolling out generally to all customers in the coming weeks. Copilot agents and the agent builder in SharePoint will enter public preview in early October.
