This result is thanks to the great support from local authorities in site clearance, mine licensing procedures; the tireless efforts of contractors, project management board, etc.

In early 2025, at the North-South Expressway construction site through Ha Tinh province. Although many parts of the work have been achieved and exceeded the set schedule, contractors still let workers work in "3 shifts"; the night lights on the construction site still shine brightly in every corner of the sky, thousands of engineers, workers, and equipment are still working hard on the main items.

According to Vinaconex leaders, up to this point, the unit's output has reached 73% of the contract value, equivalent to 1,965 billion out of a total of 2,670 billion VND.

"We aim to complete the main route by April 30, 2025 as committed to the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Transport," said a Vinaconex leader.

According to engineer Cong, at this time, Ha Tinh has quite a lot of rain, many tasks such as handling weak ground and asphalt concrete are a bit behind schedule. In return, we are flexible in working overtime, taking advantage of the dry weather to do other tasks such as installing guardrails, extending signs, etc.

Also at the Bai Vot - Ham Nghi package, at this time, Corporation 319 (Ministry of National Defense) also deployed dozens of construction teams to ensure the project was completed on schedule.

At the asphalt mixing station, closely observing each truck of input materials, Major Tran Dinh Ngan - Project Executive Director said that the unit set a target of paving about 6km of the total 12.11km of asphalt concrete during the Lunar New Year, and has basically achieved progress; many large bridges such as: Provincial Road 07 overpass, Thach Vinh bridge over Provincial Road 550, Ham Nghi extended overpass, Son Loc bridge... have completed the bridge girder installation and are waiting for paving.

"In addition to working overtime to ensure progress according to the contract to open the main route on April 30, 2025. To ensure project quality, from the time of filling the foundation, handling weak soil, and paving asphalt concrete, the Corporation has focused on and required engineers to closely monitor materials; assign people to carefully check each specific part of the work to avoid unexpected incidents when putting the project into operation..." Major Ngan said.

Focus on the final stage

At the Ham Nghi - Vung Ang project, 54km long, constructed by a joint venture of contractors Xuan Truong - Company 368 - Tu Lap, up to this point, official vehicles can travel on the route. In many sections, contractors have paved asphalt concrete layers and constructed hard median strips.

As the leading unit of the joint venture of contractors for the project, from the beginning, identifying a large volume of work spread across many localities, Xuan Truong contractor mobilized hundreds of equipment, machinery, and human resources to spread from the beginning to the end of the route. Up to now, of the total of nearly 50km of the main route under its responsibility, this unit has basically paved the asphalt concrete; the weak ground treatment sections have been completed, and the girder installation work on the large bridge system on the route has also been completed.

At the overpass of the canal leading from Ke Go reservoir, engineer Nguyen Cong Duyen informed that if the weather is favorable, the asphalt concrete paving work on the entire route can be completed during this Lunar New Year.

"The overpass over the water canal is a critical part of the project, but we have completed the installation of the girder, one month ahead of schedule; the Cam Quan intersection is also being paved with asphalt concrete... To achieve that result, we needed the non-stop labor, 3 shifts of construction by workers and engineers on the construction site, and the great attention of the company's leaders when mobilizing hundreds of machines and equipment to the construction site," said engineer Duyen.

Next, at the XL 12 package through Ky Anh district, the construction was also undertaken by Xuan Truong enterprise.

According to the consulting unit, this package has the characteristic of the rainy season often coming early and ending late compared to other packages, the terrain is complicated when the main route has to cross many hills hundreds of meters high and large valleys and streams. Despite the difficulties, up to this point, the contractor has basically exceeded the set schedule, if the weather is favorable, the main route can be opened with other packages on the route.

As an example, Mr. Nguyen Van Ha, Hoang Ha Consulting Company, said that the bridge project passing through Ky Tay commune has 14 spans, 560m long. This is a critical project project because of weak geological foundation, bored piles must be drilled for a long time, the construction unit had to mobilize 3 bored pile drilling machines. According to the plan, it would be completed by February 2025, but the contractor rushed to install the bridge girders, 2 months ahead of schedule.

Or at the hill lowering location at km 560, it was determined from the beginning that this was a "difficult" item, so the contractor proactively purchased 60 new vehicles, 15 excavators, and 6 bulldozers to serve the lowering of this 60m high hill.

"If the enterprise does not have strong potential and experience, the project is at risk of failure. Up to now, the hills have basically been lowered, the contractor is focusing on reinforcing the slopes, paving the road surface..." Mr. Ha informed.

A representative of Xuan Truong contractor said that, as promised to the Ministry of Transport during the project progress inspections, we will open the main route that the unit is in charge of during the Lunar New Year if the weather is favorable.

According to the Thang Long Project Management Board - the project investor, up to this point, the project has achieved over 75% of its output value, of which the roadbed is basically completed, the bridge, culvert, and underpass system is 100% completed; asphalt concrete has reached over 50%...
