On the evening of November 20, the band Westlife arrived at Tan Son Nhat Airport to prepare for two upcoming concerts in Ho Chi Minh City. This is the second time Westlife has performed in Vietnam, after the first time in Hanoi in 2011.
Very early, a group of fans were present with banners and uniforms to welcome the boys.
Despite landing after a long flight, the four Irish members still appeared radiant and friendly.
Member Nicky Byrne stepped out first. He waved to fans while holding his phone to record the moment of meeting Vietnamese audiences.
The members wore casual hoodies. Despite being heavily guarded, they continuously waved to fans.
The band leader Shane Filan smiled happily and kept greeting fans during his return to Vietnam. He has been to Vietnam many times as a solo singer.
The organizers also just revealed that Westlife's concert in Vietnam is the longest in the world, longer than any other country the group has visited.
Westlife will also cover ABBA's hits - humorously dubbed "double youth" by the audience. The four boys will perform a medley of the legendary band's hits.
Previously, the organizers also confirmed that Westlife's stage in Ho Chi Minh City will be T-shaped so that the four Irish artists can connect closely with the audience. This can be considered a special gift because this stage design is almost unique for the tour stop in Vietnam.
Westlife is an Irish band, formed on July 3, 1998 with 5 members, including Shane Filan, Nicky Byrne, Kian Egan, Mark Feehily and Brian McFadden. The band's name comes from the fact that 3 members of the group are from Sligo (Northwest Ireland).
In October 2018, Westlife reunited with 4 members after 6 years of disbandment, only member Brian did not participate. Unlike many other bands of the same era, over the past decades, Westlife has maintained its popularity and toured non-stop.
Westlife's concert in Ho Chi Minh City is part of The Wild Dreams Tour and will take place on the evenings of November 21-22 at Thong Nhat Stadium.
Accompanying the concert as the biggest sponsors to bring Westlife to Vietnam are VPBank and AMO. This is not the first time VPBank has brought the community top-notch musical experiences.
For many years, VPBank has been associated with international music events, bringing famous names such as Richard Clayderman (2014), Kenny G (2015), Paris Ballet (2016) and Thomas Anders (Modern Talking band - 2016)... to Vietnam.
