On March 31, the leader of the Departmentof Education and Training of An Giang province informed that in the past few days, a clip has been circulating on social media recording a group of female students from an elementary school bringing cigarettes into the school yard and lighting them up to smoke.

The Department added that immediately after receiving the information, it contacted the leaders of Long Xuyen City People's Committee and requested to direct a review in the area, requesting the school to coordinate with parents and functional units to handle information, propagate and educate students according to regulations.

In addition, the department also noted that educational institutions across the province should further strengthen management, education on ethics, lifestyle, prevention of school violence and harmful effects of tobacco in educational institutions.

Over the past few days, a nearly 1-minute clip has been circulating on social media, recording the scene of 5 female elementary school students holding cigarettes and lighting up electronic cigarettes in the schoolyard.

This group of students also offered cigarettes to another male student to smoke.

The clip was recorded by a parent standing outside the fence. This person said the incident was filmed on the campus of an elementary school in Long Xuyen City.

This parent warned other parents about the dangers of cigarettes to children. The clip then spread quickly on social networks, attracting public attention.
