As an international award honoring outstanding businesses in the field of jewelry and high-end jewelry worldwide , JWA 2024 with the theme of Sustainability focuses on honoring pioneering businesses implementing sustainable development strategies and social responsibility.
Accordingly, among hundreds of nominations from around the world, PNJ is proud to be the only Lifestyle retailer from Vietnam to be named in the "Social Empowerment" category thanks to its pioneering and effective DE&I strategies.
On the JWA website, the Organizing Committee stated: “PNJ has clearly demonstrated its commitment to building a diverse, fair and harmonious working environment. Not only is it a “leading” enterprise in the Lifestyle retail sector in Vietnam, PNJ is also a pioneer in CSR strategies with initiatives that create positive impacts for the community.”
Ms. Cao Thi Ngoc Dung - Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of PNJ - shared: “The award is not only a recognition of the persistent efforts of the PNJ team in creating a happy and fair working environment, but also a testament to the core values that we have always maintained over the past 36 years. At PNJ, people are always the most valuable asset, we are committed to continuing to maintain sustainable values in all our activities”.
Being honored in the “Social Empowerment” category is a clear demonstration of PNJ’s commitment to promoting gender equality, respecting diversity and human development - key elements in the “S” (social) pillar of the company’s ESG strategy.
The company representative said that at PNJ, female employees account for 60.8% of the total workforce and 50.2% in leadership roles. PNJ's leadership team often clashes over views and ideas, but when making decisions, they are based on respect and balance.
On a 36-year journey of sustainably honoring human beauty and life, PNJ always adheres to the philosophy of "putting customer interests and social interests into business interests".
In addition, PNJ's ESG strategies focus on initiatives such as circular economy , greenhouse gas emission reduction, waste management and energy efficiency enhancement.
Socially, the company continues to develop DE&I initiatives, employee welfare and honor good values. In governance, PNJ builds a transparent governance framework, ensures the interests of all parties and complies with the law.
In 2023, Ms. Cao Thi Ngoc Dung was the only Vietnamese person honored in the list of "40 most outstanding icons of the world jewelry industry" at JWA.
Also at this award, in 2022, PNJ was honored as the Best Jewelry Manufacturer and Craftsman.
Previously, in 2019, Ms. Dung received the "Lifetime Achievement" award of the Asian jewelry industry honored by JNA, the predecessor of JWA.
