The benefits of promoting culture and tourism are obvious to everyone. Ms. Dang Huong Giang, Director of the Hanoi Department of Tourism, called the Blackpink music event a "golden opportunity" to promote the capital's image.
Learned a lot
The two shows attracted about 67,000 spectators, including many fans from countries such as Thailand, China, Singapore, etc. On the day the Korean group's tour was announced, the Booking.com platform recorded a 300% increase in searches for accommodation in Hanoi from July 26 to August 1 compared to the same period last year. As for us, those in the profession, it can be said to be a festival for producers and crews. We learned a lot. This can be considered an opportunity for the crew to mature, so that we can be more confident, and in the future we can confidently import equipment to do such high-class shows.
Back to the story of Blackpink, until today, the audience still talks about these beautiful girls. They have dominated the Vietnamese media for a long time, which is something that no other Vietnamese artist or show has been able to do. Someone asked me why, is it the class, the cuteness, the harmony of the band with the audience? To answer this question, we have to talk about a very long story originating from the Korean government's cultural industry development policy.

The achievements of Blackpink, BTS or any other music group are not accidental but thanks to the long-term cultural development strategy of the Korean government. They spend a large budget on culture and arts, the performing arts sector alone has received about 172.3 million USD; by 2023, this number will reach 1.217 billion USD.
The Korean government has always paid attention to building infrastructure, forming many funds for culture and arts, and they seek every opportunity to spread Korean culture globally. After more than 2 decades of focusing on development, revenue from the Korean cultural industry has contributed about 120 billion USD/year to the country's economy, accounting for 2.6% of the global market share. The country's cultural industry has risen to 7th place in the world, creating about 680,000 jobs each year.
In particular, in terms of training, they invest in thousands of people to go to developed countries to learn showbiz technology. They themselves identify that investing in culture means investing in people, and people cannot be trained domestically but must go abroad, it is a resonance, a spread. First of all, in movies, we have created a fever for Korean movies. From new movies come trends in culture, music, dance, fashion, and cuisine. The spread of culture brings huge profits, prestige, and great position to the country.
Methodical training strategy
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam has mentioned the development of the cultural industry. Our desire is the same. But to realize that desire, we must have a systematic training strategy for human resources, sending the elite young generations to study abroad. Vietnam has many talented and intelligent young people, but their opportunities to rub shoulders with the developing technology of world showbiz are very few, because there is almost no organization that can invest in them.
To work in this profession, I, director Viet Tu, director Hoang Cong Cuong... have to spend our own money to survey, practice and learn all over the world. We "wander" everywhere to be able to see and learn every technology, participate in every fair about technology and equipment, participate in plays, buy backstage tickets to watch, survey, visit... We have to explore, learn, bring back, build and create our own works.
To be like them, we must have selection, then training from today. This is the key factor, all technology is just a supporting factor.
Without a training environment, without a large number of staff, without the brains pouring in from composing songs that create hot trends, training, and training dancers, there can be no success. The Blackpink group was trained in sweat and tears. They selected staff, trained hard; a huge machine poured into training, building and developing these four people, from music, choreography, costumes, training, style, performance style... So what they reaped were worthy results.
We also need more openness and transparency in the mechanism for businesses to develop. And finally, the facilities for large shows are still very lacking. When international artists come to Vietnam, they demand a lot of standards. Our neighbors, Singapore, Thailand... have very large stadiums and all the facilities to create international standard stages. But in reality, in Hanoi, there is a lack.
