Many universities have started announcing their minimum admission scores.

On July 18th, many universities announced their minimum admission scores (scores required to be eligible for application consideration), and candidates began registering their preferences for admission using their 2024 high school graduation exam scores.

At the same time, candidates also adjust and register to confirm their accepted admission preferences using early admission methods (based on academic transcripts, admission according to the universities' plans, scores from separate entrance exams organized by the universities). For health and education majors, they are currently awaiting the minimum admission scores announced by the Ministry of Education and Training.

The University of Science (Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City) has a minimum admission score ranging from 16 to 24 points. This is the total score of three subjects in the chosen admission combination, before applying any weighting factors, and includes priority points. For admission combinations that include English, the university only uses the results of the 2024 high school graduation exam. Accordingly, the majors in Oceanography , Geology, Environmental Science, Resource and Environmental Management, Environmental Engineering Technology, and Geological Engineering have a minimum admission score of 16. The highest minimum scores are for majors in the fields of Computer Science and Information Technology, with scores of 24 points or higher.

The university will admit 4,010 students, a 10% increase, while maintaining six admission methods. The majority of the quota will be allocated to admissions based on the aptitude test organized by the Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (45-55%) and the 2024 high school graduation exam scores (15-40%). Tuition fees are expected to range from 24.7 to 59.6 million VND per year, a 15% increase compared to current rates.

Minimum admission scores for the University of Science (Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City) in 2024

Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade has three minimum admission scores: 16, 18, and 20 points, depending on the major. Nine majors have a minimum score of 20 points: Food Technology, Marketing, Business Administration, International Business, Accounting, Finance and Banking, Information Technology, English Language, and Chinese Language. Nine majors in the Management, Business, Service, and Law groups have a minimum score of 18 points. The remaining majors have a minimum score of 16 points.

At the University of Commerce, all majors have a minimum admission score of 20 points. This year, the university is recruiting 4,950 students. The university maintains five admission methods, with the method based on 2024 high school graduation exam scores accounting for 40% of the quota. Last year, the admission scores (cut-off scores) for the high school graduation exam score method ranged from 24.5 to 27 points. The three majors, Commercial Marketing, International Business, and Digital Marketing, all had the highest admission scores.

Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HCMUT) has minimum admission scores ranging from 16 to 19 points. Specifically, Information Technology and Communication - Marketing have the highest minimum score (19 points). Automotive Engineering Technology, Business Administration, Digital Marketing, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, and Public Relations have a minimum score of 18 points. Other majors with high minimum admission scores include Electric Vehicle Technology, Computer Science, Graphic Design, Finance - Banking, Accounting, and Veterinary Medicine, all at 17 points. The remaining majors have a minimum score of 16 points.

The Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Finance has the highest minimum admission scores for two majors: Logistics and Supply Chain Management and International Business, both at 19 points. The remaining majors have minimum admission scores ranging from 16 to 18 points.

According to Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Thu Thuy, Director of the Department of Higher Education (Ministry of Education and Training), from July 18th to 5 PM on July 30th, candidates can register and adjust their nguyện vọng (preferences) for all admission methods on the Ministry of Education and Training's common admissions system. Candidates are allowed to register and adjust multiple times, with no limit on the number of preferences, and will only be admitted to their highest-ranked preference (preference 1). Candidates should prioritize their preferred majors, those they are passionate about, and that match their abilities, as their first preference.
