(NLDO) - One of the highlights of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council meeting is to present and review policies to support people, especially policies on education.
Chief of Office of the National Assembly Delegation and the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council Do Thi Minh Quan has just announced that the 10th Ho Chi Minh City People's Council, term 2021-2026, will open its 20th session (regular session at the end of the year) on December 9.
The session will last for 2.5 days, from December 9 to 11, 2024.
According to the Chief of Office of the National Assembly Delegation and the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council held this session to review and evaluate the implementation of socio-economic, defense and security tasks in 2024; and directions and tasks for 2025.

At the same time, consider the following contents: revenue, expenditure, and settlement of the state budget; plans for borrowing and repaying local government debts; public investment; and contents on specific and regular policies for the city's socio-economic development.
Specifically, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee will report at the meeting: the economic - cultural - social and national defense - security situation in 2024; directions and tasks in 2025; results of handling voters' petitions; results of implementing the 2024 theme "Determination to effectively implement digital transformation and Resolution 98/2023 of the National Assembly".
The Ho Chi Minh City People's Council meeting was honored to welcome and listen to the direction of Politburo member and Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen.
Along with that is a report on the results of practicing thrift and fighting waste in 2024; a report on the 2023 budget settlement, estimated budget revenue and expenditure in 2024 and estimated budget revenue and expenditure in 2025.
Also at this session, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee will submit important reports to the session to ensure social security.
That is the report on special policies to support tuition fees for public and non-public secondary school students and continuing secondary education students in the area for the 2024-2025 school year; special policies to support people with revolutionary contributions and relatives of people with revolutionary contributions.
Report on support policies for users of public passenger transport services by bus and train and support for operating costs of public passenger transport by bus and train.
Support policies for households related to changing criteria for identifying poor and near-poor households in the Ho Chi Minh City Sustainable Poverty Reduction Program for the period 2021 - 2025.
In addition, there is a report on regulations on expenditure content and expenditure levels for press awards and periodic and ad hoc rewards for press agencies with good works about the city...
Also at this session, the Ho Chi Minh City Fatherland Front Committee will announce activities to participate in building the city government in 2024; the Ho Chi Minh City People's Court will report on trial work in 2024, directions and tasks in 2025; the Ho Chi Minh City People's Procuracy will report on the results of prosecution work in 2024, directions and tasks in 2025.

During the meeting, on the second working day, there will be a question and answer session with Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Phan Van Mai; Director of the Department of Culture and Sports Tran The Thuan, Chairman of Go Vap District People's Committee Nguyen Tri Dung.
In addition, the session also organized a thematic supervision on "State management of labor and employment in Ho Chi Minh City for the period 2020 - 2025".
