VHO - On September 22, the Hue Monuments Conservation Center and the German Association for the Preservation of Cultural Heritage (GEKE) launched heritage education activities at the Phung Tien Palace relic site, Hue Imperial City.

Specifically, the program includes: heritage coloring activities and Hue art memory games with traditional Vietnamese motifs under the Nguyen Dynasty. These are activities within the framework of the Heritage Education program and the project "Preservation, restoration and virtual restoration, integrating technical training at Phung Tien Palace".

Students and children who register to participate in the program will learn about traditional decorative motifs in the Imperial City and practice coloring with watercolor techniques.

The project’s artists and experts will explain to students traditional painting techniques; introduce coloring techniques and how to use them; explore and learn about traditional motifs on the screens and main gates of the temple…

For this purpose, children will choose patterned pictures printed on A3 drawing paper and then experience coloring with watercolors and professional brushes.

When participating in the memory training game “Hue The Memory Game”, children will also learn about the meaning of the patterns through this form. In addition, children will research and search for patterns used at the Phung Tien Temple project.

The program's activities aim to raise awareness of Hue's cultural heritage, help students practice inspirational concentration skills and develop artistic abilities and creativity through interactive discovery activities.

Students who register to participate in the program will receive free entrance tickets to the Hue heritage site and free materials for heritage education activities. The program will be implemented from now until the end of October 2024, and is expected to organize 15 experiential classes for students in the area.

Ms. Andrea Teufel - German expert on heritage conservation, and project members and staff of the Hue Monuments Conservation Center implemented this heritage education program.
