French comedian Louis de Funès left his mark on Vietnamese and world television audiences in the 1970s and 1980s through classic films, including the series "Le Gendarme".

Tourists visiting the capital Brussels, known as the "heart of Europe", were extremely surprised and delighted to see the funny gendarme Ludovic Cruchot in the movie "Le Gendarme de Saint Tropez" (The Gendarme of Saint-Tropez) hugging the statue of Manneken Pis also in gendarme uniform, along with a series of other characters such as the nun Clothilde or Fantômas in the parade in the center of the Belgian capital.

Manneken Pis is a bronze sculpture and small fountain depicting a naked boy urinating into a basin. The statue is one of the symbols of Belgium and is a fixture at city events.

The statue is often dressed in outfits appropriate to the occasion, so Manneken Pis's "wardrobe" is very diverse, from Santa Claus clothes to traditional costumes of countries around the world.

Last weekend, the Manneken Pis statue was dressed in the uniform of the Saint-Tropez Gendarmerie. This is the same costume that the comedian Louis de Funès made famous in the six "Le Gandarme" films, the first released in 1964 and the last completed in 1982.

Daniel Levasseur, who played Cruchot in the parade, said he and many Brussels residents are fans of comedian Louis de Funès.

This year's event attracted a large number of visitors from France, especially from the Saint-Tropez region, which was the setting for the famous film "Le Gendarme de Saint Tropez". In addition, the city government also hopes that these cultural exchanges will bring joy to the capital's residents, while attracting tourists to Brussels.

Normand Narhalie and her daughter Mylène Deconick said they were both admirers of Louis de Funès. They said they were happy and proud that Brussels was hosting such a special event to honor the French comedian's artistic contributions.

The dressing ceremony for Manneken Pis took place in a lively atmosphere with music , as everyone sang "Manneken Pis song" and songs from the series "Gendarmerie".

Brussels is not only the political center of the European Union but also a city rich in history and culture. The city regularly organizes unique activities to bring visitors interesting experiences when they visit Brussels.
