BTO-People's Committee of La Gi town has just issued a plan to organize the Dinh Thay Thim Cultural - Tourism Festival of La Gi town in 2023.
Accordingly, the festival will take place for 3 days, from October 28 to 30, 2023 (September 14 to 16 of the lunar calendar), at Dinh Thay Thim (Tan Tien commune). The program includes a ceremony and a festival. The ceremony includes rituals such as the welcoming ceremony, the procession of the royal decree and the certificate of recognition of the relic, the ceremony of entering the temple, offering cakes to Thay Thim, vegetarian noon offering, giving food and prosperity, the asking for birth ceremony, the death anniversary of the ancestors and the offering to the soldiers, and the main ceremony.
The festival has many activities imbued with the traditional culture of coastal residents such as chess performances, lion-monk-dragon performances, competitions: tug of war, expanded bird singing, cake making, folk games: harvesting dragon fruit, blindfolded duck catching, pot-breaking, carrying baskets out to sea, carrying fish, expanded net weaving; music and dance programs, variety shows, amateur music... In addition, in the opening ceremony broadcast live on Binh Thuan Radio and Television and some regional TV stations at 4:30 p.m. on October 28, there will be a staged scene about the legend of Thay Thim, reading the golden book, offering incense to Thay Thim, an art program praising La Gi land in particular and Binh Thuan in general in response to the National Tourism Year 2023 "Binh Thuan - Green Convergence"...
This year, the festival also has attractive activities scheduled to take place before, after and in parallel such as the La Gi Town Open Cycling Race on October 22; Open Beach Volleyball on October 24; Bonsai Exhibition from October 26 to 31; Exhibition introducing products of businesses in the town from October 26 to November 5.
Dinh Thay Thim Festival has long been considered a unique and typical traditional festival not only of the local community but also a common cultural heritage of many neighboring provinces and cities in the Southern region. The festival space is also a place to consolidate and enhance solidarity and mutual love in the community; raise awareness of national origins, moral values, personality, and spirit of harmony to unite members of the community together, forming a noble lifestyle and increasingly stronger village and neighborhood relationships.
