This year, the Book Fair with the theme "Enjoying summer with good books" attracted the participation of 24 units which are publishers and book distributors in the city. At the festival, the Organizing Committee will display and exhibit good books for children published in the summer of 2024, display and introduce the Vietnamese History in pictures (Vietnamese and English) to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the book series being published and released.
Along with that, more than 20,000 books of diverse genres and rich content for children (including paper books, e-books, audiobooks) are also brought to the booths to serve the needs of readers and parents.

According to the Organizing Committee, this year's Summer Children's Book Festival continues to be invested in with many new features and exciting activities to serve children in addition to the city's child care activities in the series of summer activities in 2024.
During the 10 days of the event, on the main stage, the Children's Book Festival has nearly 60 activities (50% increase compared to the 4th Ho Chi Minh City Children's Book Festival) including: exchanges, book launches, interactive activities, experiences, developing thinking and creativity for children and teenagers, cultural and artistic performances, ethnic music exchanges, martial arts performances, screenings of English films adapted from literary, cultural, historical works, etc.
The book fair also has the experience activity "Technology Bus" to explore the virtual reality glasses system with knowledge content about science, book library, creative science; activities to introduce handbooks, organize instruction on first aid skills for children and drum and trumpet performances of schools in the city will take place throughout.
In particular, the focus of the series of welcoming events is the Forum with the theme "Making friends with books". The Forum has the participation of speakers who are Ambassadors of Reading Culture of Ho Chi Minh City, writers, journalists, creators, experts in education, psychology and young authors, inspirational figures who promise to bring multi-dimensional perspectives, useful sharing to help teenagers and children build skills, effectively use supporting devices in learning and entertainment for comprehensive development in the current digital transformation stage.
