The festival takes place in front of Bua Cave (lotus cave - Thai), a scenic spot and archaeological site ranked as a National Cultural - Historical Relic in 1997. The highlight of the ceremony is the Muong Chieng Ngam Temple Festival. The temple was built in 1927 by a district chief named Sam. The temple worships the gods who contributed to the construction of the Thai Muong, called Chieng Ngam (beautiful Muong).
