Many solutions to promote socio-economic development of Vinh Thanh district

People in Vinh Thanh town, Vinh Thanh district were happy and excited when Decision No. 829/QD-UBND of Can Tho City People's Committee was issued on April 2, 2025 on approving the project to adjust the Master Plan of Vinh Thanh town, Vinh Thanh district. Accordingly, Vinh Thanh town is the political - administrative, economic - cultural, scientific - technical center of the district in the short term from now until 2030, and in the long term until 2040. Can Tho City Department of Construction also issued Official Dispatch No. 611/SXD-QHKT on organizing the public announcement, implementation and management of the project to adjust the Master Plan of Vinh Thanh town, Vinh Thanh district, Can Tho city. The Department of Construction requested Vinh Thanh District People's Committee to coordinate with relevant agencies to organize the public announcement of the approved master plan adjustment project according to regulations. Vinh Thanh District People's Committee organizes the implementation of urban management, guides investment in construction, urban development, economy - culture in the town in accordance with the provisions of Decision No. 829/QD-UBND of the City People's Committee... Mr. Doan Quoc Su, Chairman of Vinh Thanh District People's Committee, emphasized: "Currently, the locality has prepared and implemented the work of public announcement, implementation and management of the project to adjust the General Planning of Vinh Thanh town in accordance with the direction of the Department of Construction of Can Tho City. Decision No. 829/QD-UBND has been implemented not only to contribute to improving the spiritual and cultural life of the people, but also to create harmony between economic development and urban development in a more synchronous and comprehensive manner...".

From the beginning of 2025 to now, Vinh Thanh district has completed and supplemented the dossier to request the City People's Committee to consider and recognize advanced NTM communes and model NTM communes. Thereby, the city has issued a decision to recognize Thanh Quoi and Thanh My communes as advanced NTM communes, and Thanh Thang commune as model NTM communes in 2024; at the same time, the locality has successfully organized the ceremony to announce the recognition of advanced NTM communes and model NTM communes for these communes. Vinh Thanh District has also directed the relevant agencies to guide the People's Committees of Thanh An Town and Vinh Thanh Town to prepare documents to request recognition as civilized urban towns according to Decision No. 04/2022/QD-TTg dated February 18, 2022 of the Prime Minister on promulgating regulations on criteria, order and procedures for considering recognition as civilized urban areas... According to the People's Committee of Vinh Thanh District, in March and the first quarter of 2025, the People's Committee of the district continued to resolutely implement the resolutions of the City Party Committee, the City People's Committee, the District Party Committee, and the District People's Council on the main tasks and solutions to implement the socio-economic development plan in 2025. Thereby, the socio-economic situation of the district achieved many positive results in all fields; the direction of caring for, protecting and harvesting the 2024-2025 winter-spring rice crop and planting summer-autumn rice achieved quite good economic efficiency. Total social investment capital in the first quarter of 2025 was VND 530 billion, reaching nearly 20% of the plan; total production value was VND 4,465 billion, reaching 31.78% of the plan, up 57.05% over the same period in 2024. Of which, region I received VND 1,410 billion, reaching 31.69% of the plan, up 2.92% over the same period in 2024; region II was VND 1,850 billion, reaching 33.04% of the yearly plan, up 119.71% over the same period in 2024; Region III is 1,205 billion VND, reaching 30.13% of the plan, up 90.97% over the same period in 2024. In particular, the economic restructuring is in the right direction, the production value structure in the first quarter of 2025 of region I accounts for 31.58%, reaching 100.3% of the plan; region II accounts for 41.43%, reaching 103.95% of the plan; region III accounts for 26.99%, reaching 94.79% of the plan.

In March 2025, the industrial and construction production value of the whole district was 978 billion VND, the accumulated value in the first 3 months of the year was 1,850 billion VND, reaching 33.04% of the plan (an increase of 23.33% over the same period in 2024). The level of goods sold and service revenue was 569 billion VND in March 2025, the accumulated value in the first 3 months of the year was 1,205 billion VND, reaching 30.13% of the plan (an increase of 9.55% over the same period in 2024). Vinh Thanh district seriously implemented the Plan to ensure food safety during the 2025 Lunar New Year in the district; at the same time, directed the market management board and enterprises investing in market management to regularly inspect and remind the posting and selling at the correct listed price, complying with price regulations at markets in the area; Arrange and divide lots for businesses to participate in trading goods to serve people's shopping needs in the first months of the year...

In the coming time, Vinh Thanh district will focus on directing the care and harvesting of summer-autumn rice to ensure safety and success, and sowing the 2025 autumn-winter crop according to the crop calendar; producing vegetables, fruit trees, developing aquaculture and preparing agricultural products to ensure quality and safety. Directing specialized sectors, People's Committees of communes and towns to regularly monitor epidemics and guide farmers to prevent and treat them promptly, safely and effectively. Closely monitor the epidemic situation and veterinary hygiene inspection and vaccination of livestock and poultry. Continue to consolidate and improve the quality of production models, cooperatives, cooperative groups, and large fields in the district, especially the Pilot Model of 1 million hectares of high-quality, low-emission specialized rice fields associated with green growth; implementing the OCOP program for each commune in 2025. Review and accelerate the implementation of criteria for model new-style rural communes in Thanh An commune. Strengthen inspection, supervision and urging of construction progress of transitional projects; urgently complete documents to implement new projects starting in 2025, especially national key projects implemented in the area; direct investors to thoroughly handle remaining problems in transitional projects; focus on speeding up project disbursement, striving to disburse to meet the capital plan by the end of the second quarter. Strengthen inspection of production and business activities, market management, promote industrial production - construction and develop trade, services, etc.
