Many solutions for developing tourism activities for ethnic minorities and mountainous areas of Thai Nguyen

On the morning of October 30, at the ATK Dinh Hoa National Special Relic Site, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Thai Nguyen province held a seminar: "Research on building tourism products for ethnic minority and mountainous areas in Thai Nguyen province".

Speaking at the forum, Mr. Le Ngoc Linh - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Thai Nguyen province said that although there are no world-class scenic spots like some other localities, in recent times, Thai Nguyen province has focused on developing and exploiting unique tourism products such as cultural, spiritual and origin tourism.

In particular, community and rural tourism associated with Tea culture is one of the unique products in Thai Nguyen province. In recent times, Thai Nguyen has implemented projects, plans, and support policies to synchronously implement solutions to make tourism an important economic sector of the province.

Mr. Le Ngoc Linh said that in 2024, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Thai Nguyen province organized many conferences to promote and advertise Thai Nguyen tourism in the provinces of Bac Giang, Bac Ninh, Vinh Phuc, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Phu Tho...

In addition, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism also implemented a number of contents to promote and advertise tourism in the fourth quarter of 2024 such as: Organizing the Famtrip program for eco-tourism and community in October 2024; continuing to organize a number of conferences to promote Thai Nguyen tourism in provinces and cities in the Red River Delta region.

Mr. Le Ngoc Linh hopes that when connecting destinations in Thai Nguyen, travel agencies and tourism service businesses will have a realistic view of tourist areas, attractions, and tourism products in the province, thereby building appropriate tours and routes.

The seminar attracted the participation of more than 30 tourism service businesses from Hanoi, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Hoa Binh, Son La, Thai Nguyen... and many ethnic minorities doing community tourism in many localities.

At the Seminar, representatives of many tourism businesses gave ethnic minorities “advice” on how to attract overnight visitors. Accordingly, there should be many tourism activities and products to retain visitors. First of all, homestays and food services need to be clean and tidy. Next, tourism should be combined with health care, people should grow medicinal plants and herbs.

In houses with large gardens, and on village roads, it is necessary to plant flowers to create beautiful landscapes for visitors to take souvenir photos. At the same time, it is necessary to combine introducing cultural preservation activities, along with performing traditional art and dance performances of ethnic minorities, and demonstrating traditional cake making activities.

In particular, local people also need to pay attention to promoting destinations and products on e-commerce platforms and social networks.
