DNVN - For the first time, many leading Vietnamese fruit exporting enterprises brought to Beijing, China the quintessence of the "four delicacies" within the framework of the Vietnam Fruit Festival, taking place on September 29.
The first Vietnamese Fruit Festival in Beijing, China was co-organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development with the cooperation of the Vietnamese Embassy in China, the Vietnam Fruit and Vegetable Association and Chinese partners.
According to the Trade Promotion Agency, the first fruit festival in Beijing with the theme "Vietnamese Fruits - Four Seasons of Deliciousness" (Sino-Vietnamese pronunciation: Vietnam Water Fruit - Four Seasons of Deliciousness) is intended to promote the class of Vietnamese fruits that are delicious all year round, with a unique taste and flavor compared to fruits that are not grown in the specific climate and soil conditions of Vietnam.
Speaking at the opening ceremony on the morning of September 29, Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien said that Vietnam is located in a tropical monsoon climate zone - a place considered a paradise for tropical plants. In particular, there are many rich fruit gardens, stretching across the country, with the diversity and sophistication of many types of fruit.
With an annual output of 12-14 million tons, Vietnam's fruit products not only meet domestic consumption needs but also serve exports with a turnover of nearly 3.5 billion USD per year. In addition to fresh fruit products, Vietnam also exports many processed fruit products, such as dried fruit, fruit jam, crushed fruit and vegetables, fruit juice, etc.
Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien delivered the opening speech at the first Vietnam Fruit Festival in Beijing, China.
In recent years, with the cooperation of the authorities and the efforts of businesses of both countries, more and more Vietnamese fruits are officially exported to China. These are products of outstanding quality, with clear traceability, meeting plant quarantine standards and having standardized packaging facilities, packaging and labels in accordance with Chinese standards and regulations.
However, the results achieved in the past have not been commensurate with the potential, needs and strengths of each side. Currently, Vietnamese fruits are still mainly exported to China through border trade to meet the market demand of some localities in the South, Southeast of China and provinces adjacent to Vietnam.
For other localities, the presence of Vietnamese fruit products is still quite modest, while the demand for fruit consumption in the Chinese market is very large and the ability to supply high-quality, specialty fruits of Vietnam is abundant. There is still a lot of room for fruit businesses of the two countries to exploit and develop.
Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Tran Thanh Nam emphasized that this is the first time the fruit festival has been held and is a valuable opportunity for businesses and consumers of the two countries to enjoy delicious, pure Vietnamese fruits.
Vietnamese fruits are not only wonderful gifts from nature, but also messengers of Vietnamese agricultural products, imbued with Vietnamese culture.
Up to now, there have been 12 types of Vietnamese fruits exported to the Chinese market with an estimated turnover of about 4.5 billion USD by 2024.
To promote agricultural trade between the two countries in the coming time, the leaders of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development hope that relevant agencies of the two countries will continue to strengthen coordination in removing barriers and opening up agricultural markets, especially the agencies of the General Administration of Customs of China to expand agricultural, forestry and fishery products, especially Vietnamese specialty fruits, to be introduced and consumed in the Chinese market.
Associations, businesses and investors of the two countries need to strengthen cooperation and linkage to expand markets, develop sustainable agricultural product chains for export, and expand investment in export-serving sectors.
Vietnam is ready to create favorable conditions according to the law for many types of Chinese fruits to be imported into the Vietnamese market, as well as help Chinese enterprises invest and do business effectively and sustainably in Vietnam.
Within the framework of the festival, there will also be direct trading activities between Vietnamese enterprises and Chinese fruit importers and distributors; product experience programs and discussions on the export potential of Vietnamese fruit. This is a good opportunity for Vietnamese producers and suppliers to introduce and promote their brands and images of typical fruit products, as well as to meet and seek customers, enhance trade activities, and build sustainable cooperative relationships with potential partners in fruit import in China. At the same time, it is a favorable opportunity for a large number of Chinese consumers to directly experience the quality and unique, distinctive flavors of Vietnamese fruits. |
