To meet the diverse entertainment needs of tourists and enhance the competitiveness of the destination, tourism service businesses in Ha Long Bay have maintained and developed many attractive products and services, providing diverse experiences for tourists visiting Quang Ninh.
Currently, Ha Long Bay offers 12 tourism products and services, of which 4 are organized and operated by the Ha Long Bay Management Board. These include: Visiting and experiencing the outstanding global values of the aesthetic landscape and geological-geomorphological values of the Ha Long Bay World Heritage Site by tourist boats, overnight cruises, and exploration yachts – this is one of the unique activities of the heritage site. Along with this is the product of experiencing the fishing village culture of fishermen in Ha Long Bay, implemented in the Cua Van and Vong Vieng areas. However, due to the impact of Typhoon No. 3 (Yagi), the Cua Van floating cultural center suffered severe damage, with part of it sinking, and the floating houses in the Cua Van area also sank. Currently, the product of experiencing the fishing village culture of fishermen in Ha Long Bay is only maintained in the Vong Vieng area, part of the VHL4 itinerary in Ha Long Bay. With its product offering exploration and sightseeing of historical and cultural relics and archaeological sites, tourists can visit Dau Go Cave, Ba Men Temple, Me Cung Cave; and explore the only archaeological exhibition area in Ha Long Bay at Tien Ong Cave… In addition, Ti Top Beach is an attractive destination for tourists on the VHL2 tour in Ha Long Bay.
In addition, Ha Long Bay offers 8 tourism products and services operated by businesses, most notably: Hand-rowed boat services operating in 4 areas (Ba Hang, Luon Cave, Cua Van, Vong Vieng). Kayak services are offered by 10 businesses operating in 8 areas (Ba Hang, Luon Cave, Cua Van, Vong Vieng, Tung Sau Bay, Dong Tien Lake - Trinh Nu Cave, Co Cave, Cong Do), with 590 kayaks.
In addition, speedboat services in Ha Long Bay are operated by 4 businesses with 34 speedboats, operating in one area north of Cat Lan Island along a one-way route on the inland waterway for about 10km from Cat Lan Island - Luon Cave - Yen Ngua Island - Dong Tien Lake - Trong Cave - Thung Cave - Dau Nguoi Island - Cat Lan anchorage point. Currently, there are 258 private companies, enterprises, and individual business households providing tourist transportation services in Ha Long Bay with 502 tourist boats registered to operate on 8 tour routes and overnight anchorage in 5 designated operating areas. Furthermore, there are other services such as: onshore restaurant boats; pearl farming, pearl jewelry making and sales (Tung Sau and Vong Vieng bays); sightseeing combined with buying and selling seafood, and watching seafood processing demonstrations; Tourism activities combined with buying and selling seafood, watching seafood processing demonstrations... contribute to increasing the attractiveness of Ha Long Bay.
Ms. Nguyen Thu Sam (a tourist from Ho Chi Minh City) said: "I have visited many coastal cities, but Ha Long - Quang Ninh has given me a truly different feeling and experience. At each destination in Ha Long Bay, I experienced many unique and novel services, such as swimming, visiting caves, rowing boats... I know that during the upcoming April 30th and May 1st holidays, Quang Ninh will have many attractive and unique festivals and tourist activities. To effectively manage tourism products and services in Ha Long Bay, the Ha Long Bay Management Board has advised the Provincial People's Committee to issue plans, regulations, and rules for managing, inspecting, and supervising service activities; and to deploy forces to regularly disseminate information and guide organizations and individuals doing business in the Bay to comply with legal regulations on security, order, and social safety. At the same time, it organizes inspections and supervision of business activities; checks the safety conditions of vehicles and infrastructure (rafts, buoys marking water areas, mooring buoys); handles situations, incidents, and accidents; and proposes measures to handle violations by organizations and individuals according to regulations.
Implementing the overall plan for the management and development of marine and island tourism products in Ha Long Bay - Bai Tu Long Bay - Van Don - Co To, in addition to traditional tourism services, new tourism products are also being developed in Ha Long Bay to meet the needs of high-spending tourists, such as: discovery cruises; experiencing Ha Long Bay from above with seaplanes and helicopters; restaurant cruises offering Ha Long Bay culinary experiences combined with enjoying music and admiring the beauty of Ha Long Bay at night…
To sustainably develop the heritage tourism resources, the Ha Long Bay Management Board also coordinates the development of cultural, ecological, and community-based tourism products, such as: visiting and experiencing the unique cultural values of the fishing community in the Cua Van and Vung Vieng areas (listening to traditional folk songs, experiencing the crafting of traditional fishing tools; visiting model classrooms and floating houses for preservation, etc.); experiencing the pearl cultivation and processing area in Tung Sau Bay; exploring archaeological sites in Me Cung Cave; visiting the exhibition area showcasing heritage values in Dau Go Cave; experiencing the archaeological exhibition area in Tien Ong Cave; enjoying Ha Long cuisine and OCOP products of Quang Ninh province at the Cap Tao tourist site... The development of tourism products and services in Ha Long Bay contributes to creating jobs for workers and increasing budget revenue for the province.
