Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee has just proposed the Prime Minister to approve the policy of allowing the Ministry of Transport and Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV) to survey, establish and implement the project of leveling the ground for phase 2 of the Long Thanh International Airport Construction Investment Project from 2023 to 2025. Leveling work in phase 2 will be carried out in parallel with the construction of the project's phase 1 items.

The process of leveling Long Thanh airport causes huge dust pollution.

The process of leveling Long Thanh airport causes huge dust pollution.

To date, Dong Nai province has basically completed the site clearance for the entire Long Thanh airport project (about 5,000 hectares). ACV and investors are also urgently implementing the Long Thanh airport construction investment project phase 1 (more than 2,500 hectares) and is expected to be put into operation by the end of 2026.

According to the People's Committee of Dong Nai province, if the second phase of land leveling is implemented after the first phase of Long Thanh airport comes into operation, it will certainly greatly affect the airport's operations and threaten flight safety because the land leveling construction will generate a large amount of dust.

Previously, Dong Nai province also proposed that the National Assembly's Economic Committee consider and approve the policy for ACV to complete the construction of a protective fence for the entire 5,000-hectare land area of the Long Thanh airport project to avoid encroachment.
