With 10 in-depth discussion sessions on important and urgent topics of Vietnam's revolutionary journalism in the Digital Transformation period, on the afternoon of March 16, the 2024 National Press Forum officially closed.
Attending the closing session were Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang; Mr. Le Quoc Minh, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, President of the Vietnam Journalists Association; representatives of press management agencies, departments, sectors, enterprises, central and local news agencies and newspapers.
This is the first time a large-scale forum on journalism has been held at the National Press Conference.
With the participation of more than 60 speakers who are experienced domestic journalists and prestigious international media experts, the Forum is a high-quality professional activity on hot topics of interest to the press.
The forum includes 10 discussion sessions on the following topics: "Enhancing Party spirit and orientation in journalism activities;" "Building a cultural journalism environment;" "Data journalism and outstanding content strategy;" "Competitiveness of television in the AI era;" "Dynamic broadcasting in the digital environment;" "Diversifying revenue sources of press agencies;" "The issue of protecting press copyright in the Digital Age..."

With attractive topics, the discussion sessions attracted the attention of many press agencies, press management agencies and journalists nationwide, thereby providing many important comments and assessments.
In the discussion session “Enhancing Party spirit and orientation in press activities,” speakers and journalists affirmed that Party spirit is the red thread running through revolutionary press activities.
Opinions also pointed out challenges to journalism in the current era such as changing public psychology and tastes, slow innovation in editorial management methods...
In the discussion session “Building a cultural environment for journalism,” opinions all emphasized that the cultural environment for journalism is the foundation for the Vietnamese press to develop in the right direction and professionally. Therefore, it is necessary to promote cultural factors in professional activities and in journalistic works...
Discussing “Investing and effectively applying technology in newsrooms,” the speakers stated that journalism in the Digital Age cannot be separated from technology, even technology is leading journalism and most large newsrooms will develop towards becoming technology-media corporations...

Mr. Le Quoc Minh, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association, said that in 10 discussion sessions, the Forum received many enthusiastic comments, assessments, and discussions from journalists, managers, and experts, suggesting solutions to help press agencies improve their competitiveness in the current Digital Age.
