In 2024, Quang Ninh province will carry out its tasks with the working theme identified as "Improving the quality of economic growth; developing culture and people rich in Quang Ninh identity". Closely following the working theme, all levels, sectors and localities in the province have synchronously deployed practical and effective solutions to improve the quality of economic growth associated with improving people's income and living standards.

In addition, the province directly worked with and issued many documents to relevant ministries, branches, the State Bank of Vietnam, Quang Ninh Branch and credit institutions to propose debt forgiveness, interest rate reduction, tax deferral and extension for organizations, businesses, and households affected by the storm... After a short time, many sectors, fields as well as people's lives in the province have been rebuilt.

After one year of implementing Resolution No. 176/NQ-HDND of the People's Council (dated December 8, 2023) on socio-economic development tasks in 2024, in addition to the province's GRDP target not reaching expectations due to the great damage caused by storm No. 3 to the province's economy, the remaining 11/12 targets identified in Resolution 176 basically met and exceeded the set plan. Some outstanding targets increased, such as: Total number of tourists reached 19 million, up 22% over the same period in 2023; total retail sales of goods and service revenue increased by 12.9% over the same period; export turnover of enterprises in the province increased by 12.6% over the same period; revenue from transportation, warehousing and transportation support services increased by 29% over the same period; total state budget revenue reached 100% of the assigned plan; Total social security expenditure increased by 23% over the same period; created additional jobs for 31,350 workers, reaching 104% of the annual plan.

On November 23, the Provincial Party Committee met to discuss and decide on a number of tasks, goals, directions and tasks for 2025, with the working theme identified as "Breakthrough in economic development, creating momentum for the new term". The 23rd session (regular meeting at the end of the year) of the Provincial People's Council also focused on discussing and deciding on tasks, goals and practical solutions to concretize and soon put the Resolution of the Provincial Party Committee into practice.
