Inadequacies in the accommodation service business at The Song
On August 19, the Department of Tourism of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province said that it had coordinated with functional units to work with the Management Board of The Song building, where the homestay service apartment was accused of installing cameras but not informing tenants, causing a stir in public opinion recently.
Previously, the interdisciplinary inspection team of tourism and services of Vung Tau City conducted work and concluded that there was a lack of management and understanding of the situation of guests and business activities at The Song.
During the meeting, The Song Building Management Board said that there are a total of 1,659 apartments and 12 shophouses. Of these, 11 are accommodation businesses, with a total of 514 registered apartments. There are 122 apartments waiting for registration; 65 apartments are in the process of completing procedures; 97 apartments are for long-term stay. Due to the large number of apartments and tourists, many problems have arisen, beyond the control of the unit.
For example, some cases of spontaneous business, without registering information and related documents, and when discovered, often explain that relatives and friends come to the apartment... Or there are also cases where the business unit lacks coordination in controlling and providing customer information to the Management Board; or receives more customers than the prescribed number; copies security cards (elevator)...
In addition, some tourists also have some uncivilized behaviors in public places, or cause disorder after 10pm; intentionally press the emergency bell when there is no incident; perform some other illegal acts inside the apartment...
Overload and lack of management affect service quality
According to The Song Building Management Board, the fact that some units and apartment owners do not cooperate with the Management Board in service business has partly caused the situation of overcrowding of guests, not notifying their stay, etc. Welcoming a large number of guests also leads to overloading of elevators, overloading of utilities (swimming pool, lobby)...
In addition, there are some cases where subjects ask acquaintances to rent apartments to commit illegal acts; shout and sing at night; and even attack and insult building management staff when reminded.
These issues are beyond the authority of the Management Board, affecting public order and security; or causing frustration among visitors, affecting the quality of business services at the building.
In this situation, The Song Management Board wishes to receive more in-depth support and guidance on legal procedures to further enhance the building's security and safety; ensure that business units comply with legal regulations; as well as suggestions to rectify management work; rectify business registration of apartments.
The Department of Tourism Inspectorate has noted the above comments and requested the Building Management Board to continue to rectify existing issues regarding environmental sanitation, security and order, fire prevention and fighting; to be more active in management work, and to coordinate with local authorities to ensure business conditions, security and order, especially during the upcoming September 2nd holiday.
The Department of Tourism will send a document inviting 11 accommodation businesses, together with the Management Board, to work together to guide and unify the implementation of legal regulations in accommodation business activities at The Song building.
