We hope that the emergency relief items handed over today will soon be delivered to the damaged areas, so that the difficulties in the lives of people in the disaster areas can be reduced and the areas affected by storms and floods will soon be restored," Ambassador Ito Naoki said at the handover ceremony. Japan pledged to continue cooperating with Vietnam towards the early recovery and reconstruction of disaster-hit areas. "I know that the mountainous region of northern Vietnam is prone to serious natural disasters such as landslides and flash floods. Therefore, I see the need to consider providing medium- and long-term support for solutions to reduce damage caused by landslides by sharing Japan's experiences in disaster prevention," Mr. Ito Naoki added.
