Sacombank warns customers that the trick that scammers often use is to impersonate police officers, prosecutors, courts, bank employees, then provide "unique - strange" links for customers to install fake applications of authorities. Then the application asks for permission to track the customer's mobile device. At that time, if the customer agrees to grant permission, the phone will be controlled remotely, the scammers will steal all information on the phone including personal information, contacts, bank account information... Seizing money in the bank account, defrauding relatives and friends of customers.
Banks warn customers not to click on strange links
To promptly prevent fraudulent acts, Sacombank recommends that customers absolutely do not follow any instructions from subjects impersonating the police, do not access strange links, do not grant tracking access on the phone when installing strange applications, do not provide personal photos of CCCD, ID card, passport...
Recently, the police agency in Ho Chi Minh City issued a warning about a seemingly "old" scam that has reappeared and is more sophisticated. Some people receive packages from the shipper, and when they open them, there are scratch cards inside. On the scratch card, when scratched, there are prizes, to receive the prize, they must access the link on the QR code and provide personal information to complete the prize-receiving procedure. This is a new and very dangerous form of fraud. To avoid having personal information leaked and the risk of being scammed, the police agency recommends that people be vigilant, do not access the link on the QR code and promptly report to the nearest police agency when receiving such packages. People should not accept strange packages that they did not order, and should not receive packages for others.
