On January 5, the leader of the People's Committee of Hoa Hai Ward (Ngu Hanh Son District, Da Nang City) confirmed that they are coordinating with functional units to search for victims swept away by waves and missing at sea.

The victim, PVN (38 years old, residing in Tho Quang ward, Son Tra district), is a lifeguard at a resort.

The incident occurred on the afternoon of January 4, at Tan Tra beach area (Hoa Hai ward), in front of a resort in Hoa Hai ward.

At that time, while on lifeguard duty at the beach, Mr. N. discovered a foreign tourist swimming in the sea being swept away by the waves. He called the rescue team and quickly ran out to sea to rescue the victim.

Upon reaching the victim, the rescuers gave the tourist a lifebuoy. The rescuers successfully brought the victim safely to shore.

However, Mr. N. was swept away by the water and went missing afterwards.

Authorities including border guards, police, and other search and rescue forces are working to find the victims.
