Lying on a strip of land that seems to be arched by human efforts to conquer nature, Ha Tinh converges many values through a unique cultural heritage system. Those cultural layers are increasingly recognized and promoted, becoming invaluable resources, endogenous resources, nurturing and enriching the identity of the Hong mountain - La river homeland...
Imbued with the Party's theoretical foundation, in all stages of the province's development, Ha Tinh has always considered culture as the goal and driving force of development. Especially in recent years, Ha Tinh has flexibly applied solutions to multiply cultural "soft power".
Hong Mountain - La River is listed in the list of 21 famous landscapes of ancient Vietnam, engraved on the nine cauldrons located in the ancient capital of Hue.
Identifying the value of tangible and intangible cultural heritage, preserving and promoting those values in people's lives is one of the solutions of great significance in historical education, cultivating the fine traditions of the homeland. Thereby, educating Ha Tinh people to develop comprehensively, forming human resources that directly contribute and decide the socio-economic development process of the province.
According to statistics from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in recent times, Ha Tinh has achieved a number of important achievements in protecting and promoting tangible and intangible cultural heritage. Regarding the tangible cultural heritage system, up to now, the province has made a general inventory and put more than 1,800 historical and cultural relics and scenic spots under management. Recognizing the value of heritages in socio-economic development, the province and the cultural sector always attach importance to the work of researching, ranking and restoring relics. Up to now, the whole province has 2 special national relics, 86 national relics, and 550 provincial relics.
In addition to the research work of ranking and restoring relics, Ha Tinh also cooperated with central research agencies to organize many archaeological excavations, achieving positive results. Typical archaeological excavations were at the ancient stone rampart in Ky Lac commune (Ky Anh district); the archaeological site of Con So in Thach Lac commune (Thach Ha); the Phoi Phoi - Bai Coi site (Xuan Vien commune), Hoi Thong port (Xuan Hoi commune) both in Nghi Xuan district... From there, there were more arguments and points affirming the depth and length of Ha Tinh's history and culture.

Along with the system of tangible cultural heritage, Ha Tinh also possesses many unique intangible cultural heritages. The province pays great attention to the work of preserving and promoting the value of these heritages, especially exploiting the “soft power” of these heritages.
Ha Tinh has coordinated with provinces with the art of Ca Tru, Nghe Tinh Vi - Giam folk songs, individuals, and clans to successfully prepare nomination dossiers, and have been recognized by UNESCO as two types of folk performing arts (Ca Tru and Nghe Tinh Vi - Giam folk songs) as intangible heritages of humanity, and listed three world memory documentary heritages: Phuc Giang School Woodblocks, Hoang Hoa Su Trinh Do, and Truong Luu Village Han Nom Documents (in Kim Song Truong Commune, Can Loc).
Ca Tru is one of two folk performing art forms recognized by UNESCO, which has promoted its value in people's cultural life.
In addition, the province has successfully restored and maintained many traditional festivals, including 3 traditional festivals listed by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism as national intangible cultural heritage, including the festivals: Hai Thuong Lan Ong Le Huu Trac, Cau Ngu Nhuong Ban, Chieu Trung Dai Vuong Le Khoi...
Currently, the province is coordinating with relevant central and local agencies to complete the dossier to submit to UNESCO to recognize Hai Thuong Lan Ong Le Huu Trac as a world cultural celebrity, on the occasion of the 300th anniversary of his birth (1724-2024)...

Mr. Tran Xuan Luong - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism shared: “In addition to contributing to cultural development, shaping identity, educating personality and ethics for young generations, the cultural heritage system of Ha Tinh has been contributing significantly to the economic development of the province through tourism development. Every year, through activities of preserving, restoring and renovating heritages and promoting culture and tourism, Ha Tinh has exploited the “soft power” of culture in implementing a number of goals and tasks, contributing to gradually realizing the aspiration of building and developing the homeland”.
In fact, many relics after being restored and embellished have promoted their value, not only being places to effectively serve the cultural activities of the community but also becoming cultural and commercial products, creating changes in the economic structure and economic growth for the locality.
Typical examples include: Dai Hung historical and cultural relic site (Hong Linh town), Nguyen Du relic site (Nghi Xuan), Hai Thuong Lan Ong Le Huu Trac relic site (Huong Son), Chieu Trung Dai Vuong Le Khoi temple (Loc Ha and Thach Ha), Che Thang phu nhan Nguyen Thi Bich Chau temple (Ky Anh town); Huong Tich pagoda, Dong Loc T-junction relic site (Can Loc)...

These relics are mostly associated with intangible cultural heritage values such as folk performing arts (ca tru, vi giam, Kieu play, sac bua...) and traditional festivals, creating unique cultural spaces, attracting tourists, while spreading cultural values, contributing to building a harmonious, humane and unique society...

Cultural heritage is a place to preserve the traditional cultural beauty of our ancestors, a premise for future generations to preserve, recreate and develop. Recognizing the value of heritage, doing a good job of preserving and promoting those values has created a resource to nurture and enrich the cultural identity of Ha Tinh, contributing to building an advanced Vietnamese culture with a strong national identity. Cultural values preserved and developed in life are a solid foundation for Ha Tinh people not to lose their identity in the integration process. At the same time, people are also more aware of the value of heritage, pride in the tradition, the beauty of their homeland, and a sense of responsibility to protect this invaluable resource.
