Miss Grand Vietnam apologizes to the audience for making a mistake in the Cultural Costume competition

The National Costume competition of the Miss Grand Vietnam 2024 contest just took place in Phan Thiet. However, there was a confusion in the information about the costume competition named Trung Vuong performed by contestant Bui Ly Thien Huong.

Specifically, the national cultural costume is named Trung Vuong and was introduced as being inspired by the image of Hai Ba Trung. However, the quote when the contestant appeared on stage was actually from Ba Trieu. The confusion about historical information made many viewers angry.

In response to the controversy from the audience, the Miss Grand Vietnam Organizing Committee had to apologize for the information error. The organizing committee said that during the rehearsal on the evening of July 29, they did not approve the addition of Ba Trieu's quote that the designer intended to include in the competition night on the evening of July 30. Then, during the competition night on the evening of July 30, the technical staff mistakenly used an audio file that the organizing committee had not approved, leading to an incident on the livestream.

“Right during the contestant’s performance, the Organizing Committee noticed a mistake in historical details. However, because the program was on air, we could not handle it immediately. Right after the performance, we stopped broadcasting and cut out the performance with this mistake. We sincerely apologize and this is a profound lesson for us. We hope that the audience will sympathize,” the Organizing Committee announced.

The organizers admit their mistakes and hope that the audience will forgive the unfortunate mistake and continue to enjoy the National Costume competition, the efforts of young designers, and their efforts to convey the traditional culture of the Vietnamese people.

The National Costume competition is one of the most anticipated competitions at Miss Grand Vietnam. This year's winning costume will be chosen for the Vietnamese beauty to perform at Miss Grand International 2024 held in November in Thailand and Cambodia.

This year's contest had the participation of 36 contestants. The final night took place on August 3 in Phan Thiet City, Binh Thuan Province.
