At this time, the unit has not received exact information from localities about the number of additional books needed for the 2024-2025 school year.
Preliminary statistics show that 25 provinces in the Northern region were affected by storm No. 3. There are about 190 book titles from grades 1 to 12 that need to be supplemented to localities.
Following the direction of the Ministry of Education and Training, the Vietnam Education Publishing House is focusing on providing textbooks for students in flood-affected areas. In the immediate future, the unit will immediately print 10 million additional textbooks. Combined with the number of books currently in stock, the Vietnam Education Publishing House will provide about 18 million textbooks for flood-affected areas. In the next 1-2 weeks, after having accurate data on local needs, if there is still a shortage, the unit will organize additional printing.
For the additional number of textbooks printed to supply flood-affected areas, the Vietnam Education Publishing House said it will apply a 10% reduction in cover price (equivalent to about 50% of the publishing cost), and at the same time, set aside a budget to donate a large number of textbooks to students in heavily damaged areas.
