Recently, some parents whose children study in grade 7B at Chu Van An Secondary School (Thanh Ha Town, Thanh Ha District, Hai Duong) have complained that the parents' association fund collection is too high, up to 600,000 VND/student.
According to the first semester income and expenditure settlement provided by parents, the fund has 12,407,000 VND, after spending 20,621,000 VND on class activities, there is a negative 8,214,000 VND.
Among the expenses of class 7B, the largest is the November 20th celebration expense, amounting to VND 10,410,000; the photocopy fee for 2 installments is VND 2,900,000; the October 20th celebration expense is VND 2,450,000.
After spending the revenues, the 7B class association fund was negative more than 8 million VND.
In addition, parents also reported that the class is expected to collect an additional 20 million VND from parents to buy televisions for learning purposes.
Yesterday, February 5, speaking with Thanh Nien Newspaper reporters, the leader of the Thanh Ha Department of Education and Training said that after receiving feedback from parents, the Department of Education and Training worked with the Board of Directors of Chu Van An Secondary School and requested to immediately stop collecting the association fund in class 7B because it did not gain consensus from parents.

"The Department of Education and Training has asked the school principal to direct the verification and clarification of the parents' reflection on the association fund collection which is said to be too high. If it is an expected collection, it must be stopped immediately. If it has been collected, it must be returned to the parents. At the same time, we request the school to rectify the collection from the association fund to avoid a repeat of this situation," the leader of the Department of Education and Training of Thanh Ha district added.
