Some developments related to the Russia-Ukraine war:

White House admits Ukraine will have to make territorial concessions

White House National Security Council spokesman John Kirby said the US administration acknowledges that Kiev will have to make territorial concessions to resolve the Ukraine conflict.

In addition, he was asked by reporters how the US views the possibility of territorial concessions from Ukraine in resolving the conflict.

If there is any room for negotiation there, that should be for President Zelensky to decide. But for President Biden, it is in the United States, Ukraine is in Ukraine, all of Ukraine is internationally recognized, the borders must be respected by everyone, especially Russia,” Kirby said.

According to him, the issue of territorial concessions will depend on Mr. Zelensky.

We are not sitting around with maps of Ukraine and markers and coming up with alternative scenarios where we can convince Mr. Zelensky to trade this for that. We are not involved in that ,” the White House spokesperson added.

At the same time, he stressed: “ President Zelensky will decide the conditions and circumstances of when and how this war will end, how it will be fought. If there is room for negotiation, he must decide where to negotiate.

NATO “comforts” Ukraine

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that the alliance should have supported Kiev more actively. According to him, this could have avoided an armed conflict with Russia.

My regret is that we did not do more to help Ukraine ,” Mr. Stoltenberg said.

According to the Secretary-General, “if more weapons were transferred to Ukraine, although the outcome of the battlefield could not be guaranteed, at least the price Russia would have to pay would have been higher and perhaps all this would not have happened.”

US warns Russia about nuclear doctrine

“Totally irresponsible,” said US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, commenting on President Putin’s warning about updating nuclear doctrine.

He also criticized President Putin for “shaking the nuclear sword.”

According to the Foreign Minister, the Russian President's statements were made at the wrong time, when world leaders are gathering in New York, USA to attend the United Nations General Assembly session this week.

The US diplomat called on the international community to discuss the need for more disarmament and non-proliferation of nuclear weapons.

US “pumps” another 8 billion USD into Ukraine

President Biden announced more than $8 billion in military aid to Ukraine, which for the first time includes JSOW precision glide bombs.

The bulk of the aid, worth more than $5.5 billion, was deployed under Presidential Appropriations Authority (PDA), a law that allows the US government to directly withdraw weapons from its stockpile to transfer to partners in an emergency without congressional approval.

The move is intended to free up the remaining funds in the PDA to support Kiev, which is set to expire at the end of September. The remaining $2.4 billion is under the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative, which allows the US government to buy weapons from companies instead of withdrawing them from military stockpiles.

The aid also marks the first time the US has provided Ukraine with JSOW precision-guided glide bombs with a range of 130 km. They are believed to help Ukrainian fighters improve their ability to attack Russian targets and reduce the risk of being shot down by enemy air defenses.
