Chinese aircraft manufacturer wants to bring narrow-body aircraft to Con Dao route

Comac Company's leaders hope that by the end of this year, the narrow-body aircraft will be able to officially fly in Vietnam's skies on the Con Dao route, contributing to facilitating travel for Vietnamese people.

On the afternoon of November 6, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received Mr. Wei Yingbiao, permanent deputy general director of the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (Comac).

Comax is a Chinese state-owned aviation enterprise, famous for its C919 aircraft - the first narrow-body aircraft designed and manufactured entirely in China.

Cooperation on short flights to Con Dao

Expressing the importance of the Vietnamese market, Comac's leader said he had traveled from Shanghai to Kunming to report to the Prime Minister on the issue of promoting cooperation. Accordingly, the company has a type of aircraft with more than 90 seats, capable of flying a distance of 3,000km, and has tested the route from Ho Chi Minh City to Con Dao.

"We are very excited because never before has an aircraft flown such a short distance," said a Comac representative, adding that with the development of Vietnam's economy, especially aviation, Comac is very interested and wants to soon enter the Vietnamese market.

Accordingly, the company has now cooperated with Vietjet Air to put short-haul aircraft into operation. Therefore, Comac leaders hope that by the end of this year, the company's aircraft products will be able to officially fly in the Vietnamese sky, contributing to facilitating travel for Vietnamese people.

The head of the Vietnamese government also affirmed that he is very interested in China's aircraft manufacturing industry. He believes that in the next 5-10 years, Comac will make a leap forward, creating better competition with other aircraft manufacturers in the world.

Regarding the introduction of aircraft to operate the Con Dao route, the Prime Minister said he was very interested in this because the runway in Con Dao is very short. Vietnam is also upgrading Con Dao airport to expand and lengthen the runway.

"The plane landing at Con Dao airport is a great success. Con Dao is small but has history, is very sacred and has a large number of visitors," said the Prime Minister.

Once again, the leader of the Vietnamese Government affirmed that he supports innovation, creativity and dynamism, focusing on the factors of time and intelligence, because being slow in time will make you fall behind, and not being able to surpass intelligence will also leave you behind.

The world's second largest flower auction company wants to help Vietnamese people get rich from flowers.

On the same day, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received Mr. Tao Vinh Can, Chairman of Kunming International Flower Auction and Trade Center Company Limited (Kifa).

At the meeting, Mr. Cao Vinh Can said that with 20 years of development history, the company has the largest auction transaction scale in Asia and the second largest in the world, with the world's number 1 flower output. With 2,000 types of fresh flowers, Kifa's products are auctioned to major cities in China and exported to over 40 countries and regions in the world such as Thailand, Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong (China), Russia, Australia, etc.

Kifa Chairman also shared that he had visited Vietnam twice and saw great potential for development of the modern flower industry. Because of the suitable climate, Vietnam and Yunnan have a wide open and highly effective space for cooperation.

Along with the proposal for cooperation in flower varieties, cultivation, and consumption, Mr. Tao Vinh Can wishes to invest in developing a flower trading floor to supply the international market. He believes that the project will help form a supply chain, an ecosystem for the development of the flower and ornamental plant industry; cooperate with Vietnamese localities, businesses, and research institutions to help people get rich from flowers.

Agreeing with the above proposal, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh expressed his encouragement for Kifa to expand investment in high-tech agricultural sectors, especially flowers and ornamental plants, which are also encouraged investment areas and Vietnam also has an increasing demand for flowers.

Accordingly, the Prime Minister agreed with the idea of ​​cooperation in varieties, planning of growing areas, production, processing and trading. This would contribute to the development of the flower market, the formation of a flower trading floor serving the domestic market and world export, helping people get rich from flowers.

ADB supports Vietnam in energy transition and infrastructure projects

During the working program, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received Mr. Masatsugu Asakawa, President of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), proposing that in the coming period, ADB should support capital with new methods, larger scale, preferential interest rates, and quick procedures. In particular, it is necessary to focus on large, key, and pivotal projects that are of a changing nature and changing the status quo.

The ADB President appreciated Vietnam's important role in Mekong sub-regional cooperation and hoped that Vietnam would continue to actively participate within the GMS framework.

Accordingly, ADB provides capital for Vietnam to implement development goals, especially energy transition, green transition, digital transformation, infrastructure development, and achieving the goal of net zero emissions by 2050.

He also agreed to support Vietnam's private sector, develop emerging fields such as semiconductor chips, supporting industries, and attract more capital and foreign investment into Vietnam.
