
The Dak Mi 4 Hydropower Plant Complex is owned by Dak Mi Hydropower Joint Stock Company, a member of Bitexco Group, with a total investment of over 6,100 billion VND. The Dak Mi 4 Hydropower Plant Complex includes 3 cascade hydropower plants Dak Mi 4A, Dak Mi 4B and Dak Mi 4C. Each plant has 2 units with a total installed capacity of 208MW, average annual electricity output of about 742.7 million kWh, commercial electricity generation and connection to the national grid, the first unit on February 20, 2012, the last unit on December 31, 2012.

After nearly 13 years of operation, Dak Mi 4 Hydropower Plant Cluster has produced and supplied nearly 10.5 billion kWh of commercial electricity to the national power system, achieving total revenue from electricity sales including taxes and fees of VND 12,579 billion, paid to the state budget of Quang Nam province and the Vietnam Forest Protection and Development Fund over VND 2,400 billion. In the first 6 months of 2024 alone, the output reached 292.268 million kWh, revenue from electricity sales including taxes and fees was over VND 408.1 billion, paid to the state budget of the province and the Vietnam Forest Protection and Development Fund 222.524 billion. From 2024, the company is expected to contribute over VND 350 billion to the state budget annually.

Along with ensuring production and business activities, stable management and operation of factories, the company also performs well in natural disaster prevention and reservoir regulation. Strictly complying with the direction and operation of competent authorities in accordance with the Inter-reservoir Operation Procedures in the Vu Gia - Thu Bon River Basin, contributing to regulating, cutting and reducing floods during the flood season and minimizing the risk of water shortage in the dry season for the downstream of the Vu Gia - Thu Bon River Basin.

Mr. Vu Duc Khanh - General Director of Dak Mi Hydropower Joint Stock Company proposed to the working group about the desire to expand the scale of the project with a capacity of 30MW. Accordingly, the plant needs an area of about 15 hectares, power transmission based on the available grid, total investment cost of 500 billion VND; it is expected that if the project comes into operation, it will bring in revenue of about 100 billion VND/year.

Provincial Party Secretary Luong Nguyen Minh Triet acknowledged the information provided by the enterprise and highly appreciated the unit's efforts in production and business and regulating water flow during the flood season in recent times.

"Regarding the proposal of Dak Mi Hydropower Joint Stock Company on the project to expand the factory, the enterprise is requested to submit a proposal to the competent authorities. At the same time, relevant departments and branches and Phuoc Son district should also review whether it is consistent with the planning or not to create favorable conditions for the enterprise" - Provincial Party Secretary Luong Nguyen Minh Triet.
