On July 5, PTSC Thanh Hoa Technical Services Joint Stock Company (PTSC Thanh Hoa) coordinated with Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical Company Limited (NSRP) to support, tow and successfully receive the 200th crude oil shipment to the Nghi Son Refinery's undocked oil dumping buoy safely.
The Sea Pearl ship, Greek nationality, carried 270,000 tons of crude oil to supply Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical Plant.
The ship carrying this significant crude oil shipment is named Sea Pearl, Greek nationality, 333m long, carrying 270,000 tons of crude oil, departing from Kuwait on June 17. After a nearly 3-week voyage, in the early morning of July 5, the ship docked at the undocked oil dumping buoy at Nghi Son port, 35km from the mainland.

With its large size and load, the ship was towed by the service fleet of PTSC Thanh Hoa Technical Services Joint Stock Company, safely docking at the undocked oil dumping buoy of Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical Plant. In about 2.5 days, the Sea Pearl will pump crude oil to NSRP's storage tanks through pipelines laid under the sea.
Representatives of Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical Plant presented flowers to congratulate PTSC Thanh Hoa officers and workers for successfully supporting and towing a crude oil tanker.
Presenting flowers to congratulate the crew of the Sea Pearl ship, Mr. Pham Hung Phuong, General Director of PTSC Thanh Hoa, said: This is an important milestone, demonstrating the success in the operation and exploitation of the tugboat fleet and maritime support of PTSC Thanh Hoa providing for Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical Plant. At the same time, this is an effective cooperation between NSRP and PTSC Thanh Hoa and related units to maintain the continuous operation of Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical Plant. As evidence, in the first 6 months of 2024, PTSC Thanh Hoa coordinated to tow 678 ships carrying products of Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical Plant to supply to the domestic market and for export.

NSRP's offshore oil receiving buoy is 35 km from the mainland.
Since the first ship in 2017, there have been 200 ships carrying nearly 60 million tons of crude oil to Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical Plant. The safe and successful oil loading of crude oil ships at the buoys of Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical Plant is the result of the efforts of many related units, including the technical staff of PTSC Thanh Hoa, and the functional forces of the province.

After completing the general maintenance period, from November 2023 to present, Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical Plant has always maintained an operating capacity of 110-120%. In the first 6 months of 2024, the Plant has always operated stably above its design capacity to maintain supply for the domestic petroleum market. Also in the 6 months, Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical Plant processed more than 6 million tons of crude oil and exported nearly 5 million tons of various products, of which more than 4.2 million tons were petroleum products.

Thanks to that, it ensures the smooth operation of Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical Plant, contributes to stabilizing the supply of gasoline and oil for the domestic market and makes an important contribution to the socio-economic development of Thanh Hoa province.
Representatives of PTSC Thanh Hoa presented flowers and encouraged engineers of Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical Plant to operate the transfer of crude oil from ships and the plant.
Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical Plant has a total investment capital of over 9 billion USD, with a processing capacity of 200,000 barrels of crude oil per day (equivalent to 10 million tons per year) in phase 1. This is one of Vietnam's largest foreign direct investment projects in Thanh Hoa province. At the same time, it is the most complex deep-processing petrochemical complex in the petrochemical refining sector in Vietnam and the region, with 38 workshops using the world's leading modern technology. |
