As usual every year, the Youth Theater continues to implement the project “Summer of Love”. This is a series of new and exciting artistic experiences not only for young audiences but also attracts the companionship of parents to the stage.
The project aims to promote solidarity and love in family and society.
"Summer of Love" 2023 project with many attractive programs
The project “Summer of Love 2023” includes two plays: “Bom's Dream” and “The Cat Who Taught the Seagull to Fly”.
Meritorious Artist Si Tien - Director of the Youth Theater said: "These two plays are for children around 10 years old. One side is a folk tale, a famous foreign work. "The Cat Who Taught the Seagull to Fly" is a meaningful story that we had to buy the copyright from abroad, so it can also reach the audience this summer."
The musical "Bom's Dream" borrows the folk story "Thang Bom"
The musical “The Dream of Bom” by author Thien An, directed by Meritorious Artist Anh Tuyet, borrowed the folk story “Thang Bom” to tell the story of a poor but studious boy named Bom, who was exploited and bullied by a scheming rich man.
With his kind heart and the help of good friends, Bom made the rich man learn a worthy lesson for his greed and evil.
Meritorious Artist Le Anh Tuyet - Head of the Youth Theater's Music and Dance Troupe said: "This is a series of many musical performances, throughout which is a drama about Bom's story.
We borrowed Bom's story to adapt it into a stage script. We want to bring this folk tale to the stage in the musical genre, with the story told through music, closer to children."
The play "The Cat Who Taught the Seagull to Fly" is adapted from a famous children's literature work.
The play “The Cat Who Taught the Seagull to Fly” by Chilean writer Luis Sepulveda was adapted by screenwriter Nguyen Cong Duc and directed by Dao Duy Anh to bring the audience the opportunity to admire the beauty of the funny and lovely characters stepping out of the pages of the book, appearing for the first time on stage in a lively and intimate way.
Director Dao Duy Anh - Deputy Head of the Youth Theater Troupe revealed: "The theater always sets the criteria for composing works for children. This story is about cats and seagulls, but it is a story between people. The story of cats and seagulls is a metaphor."
In addition to the upcoming plays, the "Summer of Love" 2023 project also plans to continue introducing to children outstanding plays that have been staged by the Youth Theater recently such as "Blue Bird", "Virus War", "Flock of Swans", "Then I Will Grow Up".
