(NLDO) - International guests enjoyed a series of special performances, encapsulating the development of the art of amateur singing and reformed opera over more than 100 years.
On the afternoon of November 30, a delegation of the Journalists Association and the Women's Association of Chiang Mai Province (Thailand) visited and enjoyed art at Tran Huu Trang Opera House (HCMC). This is one of the places associated with the development of art in HCMC.
Here, international guests enjoyed a series of special performances, encapsulating the development of the art of amateur singing and reformed opera over more than 100 years, such as: Da co hoai lang (Cao Van Lau), vong co La trau xanh (composer Vien Chau), tan co giao duyen Dieu buon phuong nam (music: Vu Duc Sao Bien, vong co: Anh Kiet), Han Mac Tu (composer Vien Chau) performed by a series of artists such as: Le Thanh Thao, Meritorious Artist Le Hong Tham, Meritorious Artist Thy Trang, Meritorious Artist Thu Van, Nha Thy, Nguyen Van Meo.
Especially at the end, the guests enjoyed an excerpt from the famous Cai Luong play Luc Van Tien performed by artists Hoang Hai, Truc Phuong and Cao My Chau. The performances made the guests very excited.

Ms. Waranya lertworakitpipat, President of the Chiang Mai Provincial Women's Association, shared: "Our delegation is honored to visit Ho Chi Minh City and watch traditional music and reformed opera performances. Through that, we can understand more about the culture of the southern provinces of Vietnam, as well as the lives of the people here. I see similarities with our Chiang Mai."
Ms. Jiraporn Prompattra, a member of the group, confided: "I don't know your language well. However, through the performances, the movements, the pronunciation, the ups and downs of the artists' voices, and the songs, I can feel about this land, the old life in Vietnam.
In the final act, when I saw the male and female artists perform, I really enjoyed the way they expressed their actions, drawing me into the story. I was really happy, enjoying, filled with emotions and found it very interesting. I love these acts, feeling the meaning inside the story."
Visit the traditional room of Tran Huu Trang Opera House
Meritorious Artist Phan Quoc Kiet, Director of Tran Huu Trang Opera House, presented a zither to the international delegation.
Mr. Amnat Amnat Jongyotying, President of the Chiang Mai Provincial Press Association, said that he had been to Ho Chi Minh City several times but this was the first time he had visited Tran Huu Trang Opera House and enjoyed traditional art performances. He said that when he returned to his hometown, he would introduce this art form to more people. He also represented the delegation to thank the artists and the theater.
Here, the delegation visited the traditional room of Tran Huu Trang Opera House, which preserves many images and artifacts associated with the 100-year history of the development of the art of amateur singing and reformed opera. Also in this space, the guests enjoyed the work of Han Mac Tu, creating a new feeling.
Meritorious Artist Phan Quoc Kiet, Director of Tran Huu Trang Opera House, presented the Kim instrument, considered the ancestor of this art form, to the international delegation.
