On April 17, Passenger Terminal T3, Tan Son Nhat International Airport operated the first commercial flight VN1286 of Vietnam Airlines carrying 105 passengers from Ho Chi Minh City to Van Don (Quang Ninh).
This event marks an important milestone in the progress and quality of the T3 Passenger Terminal project, a national key project. The terminal offers a modern aviation space where the passenger experience is put first.
This is the result of the tireless efforts of the leadership team and all staff involved in the project, from design, construction to testing; ensuring the quality of the project according to the standards of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
Immediately after the first passengers arrived and departed from Terminal T3, Tan Son Nhat International Airport, many positive feedbacks were recorded. Especially the spacious, airy space; the check-in areas are scientifically arranged, helping to move easily and quickly.
Passenger Tran Thi Huong shared: “I have a good impression of the clear and easy-to-follow electronic flight information system, the check-in counters and security screening areas are professionally organized, minimizing waiting time. With modern facilities like this, other passengers will feel much more comfortable and satisfied when arriving and departing from Tan Son Nhat.”
Along with the operation of the first commercial flight, Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) will continue to listen to feedback from passengers and operators to further improve the operating process, ensuring that Terminal T3, Tan Son Nhat International Airport is not only an air transit point but also a symbol of development, bringing outstanding and memorable experiences to each passenger on their journey.
T3 passenger terminal has a total floor area of up to 112,500m², including 1 basement and 4 upper floors, scientifically and modernly arranged with 90 traditional check-in counters, 20 automatic baggage drop counters and 42 check-in kiosks. The operation of this terminal will contribute to bringing Tan Son Nhat International Airport closer to its goal of becoming the leading aviation hub in Asia.
Regarding the conversion of domestic flights of Vietnam Airlines and Vietjet to Passenger Terminal T3, Tan Son Nhat International Airport, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam ( Ministry of Construction ) requests airlines and airports to coordinate with relevant agencies and units to unify the conversion plan, ensuring smoothness and convenience for passengers and airlines. Review and supplement forms of instructions and information so that passengers can easily recognize and avoid going to the wrong terminal.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam also requested airlines to develop policies to support passengers in case they miss their flights due to going to the wrong terminal; and to arrange staff to promptly guide passengers, especially the elderly, women, and children.
To meet the increased travel demand during the April 30 and May 1 holidays, especially flights to and from Ho Chi Minh City and tourist routes, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam recommends that airlines allocate resources and develop plans to increase flights to best meet passenger demand; promptly add flights on routes with high demand, increase operations during off-peak hours and at night; minimize delays and cancellations due to airline reasons; maintain and improve service quality and on-time flight rates.
