To better understand the work "3-part series: Perceiving and resolving major relationships in the process of innovation towards socialism in Vietnam" which has just won the A Prize at the 18th National Press Awards, reporters of the Journalists & Public Opinion Newspaper had a conversation with journalist, Dr. Le Hai, Editorial Board Member, Head of the Electronic Communist Magazine, Communist Magazine.

+ Journalist Le Hai is known for his award-winning journalistic works at the Golden Hammer and Sickle Awards, the National Press Awards... This year, the 3-part series: Recognizing and resolving major relationships in the process of innovation towards socialism in Vietnam has just won the A Prize at the 18th National Press Awards. How do you feel, journalist?

- I am very happy because this is the result of a long and dedicated creative process. I am even happier when the work is highly appreciated by the Jury of the preliminary round as well as the final round of the National Press Award, including very prestigious and objective journalists and theorists. This is also the common joy of the Communist Magazine, because the work has received very close and quality guidance and comments from the Standing members of the Editorial Board and colleagues in the agency, and some experts who are strategic collaborators of the Magazine. This is a great source of motivation for me to continue studying, researching and writing the next works, as well as to love and be more attached to my work.

+ “Recognizing and resolving well the major relationships in the process of innovation towards socialism in Vietnam” is a big and difficult topic, because it deals with core theoretical issues, reflecting dialectical laws of socialism and the path towards socialism in Vietnam. Could you share the meaning and goals of the work?

- The Communist Review is the political theory organ of the Party Central Committee, therefore it has the political task of participating in research and propaganda of the summary of 40 years of national renovation and preparing documents for the 14th Party Congress. These are all great summaries of practice and major theoretical research of our Party, one of the main mainstreams of political theory life in 2024.

The major relationships are one of the core theoretical issues in our Party's innovation policy, reflecting the regular issues of Vietnam's path to socialism, so the Editorial Board of the Communist Magazine has set the focus of research and propaganda, aiming to contribute to generalizing, systematizing and clarifying the process of developing our Party's theory on major relationships. Perceiving and grasping the major relationships, that is, perceiving and grasping the laws of movement and development of human society; the laws of building socialism; the principles of organization and operation of the Communist Party, is a decisive factor in the Party's successful leadership in building socialism in Vietnam.

In particular, after 40 years of renovation, we have formed a theoretical system on the renovation path in Vietnam, leading the renovation process and the path to socialism in Vietnam, which was mentioned by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong at the recent 9th Central Conference of the 14th tenure. The theory on the renovation path in Vietnam is the crystallization of the wisdom, enthusiasm, and efforts of the entire Party, the entire people, the entire army, the Central Executive Committee, the Politburo, the Secretariat, bearing the very strong mark of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, and of many generations of people who research, propagate, teach... theory.

Along with the general goals of socialism, the characteristics of socialist society, the directions for building socialism, etc., major relationships are an important component of the Theory of the path of innovation in Vietnam. Therefore, the research and propaganda through a system of in-depth monographs on major relationships are even more important, contributing to clarifying a fundamental theoretical issue in the Theory of the path of innovation in Vietnam. Not only is it a generalization, the article also has new discoveries, anticipations and new proposals on the perception and good resolution of major relationships in the process of innovation towards socialism in Vietnam, on the basis of scientific and logical interpretation and a system of strict and convincing arguments and proofs, clearly demonstrating the character and typical qualities of the Communist Review.

+ Although you are an experienced journalist, you also shared above that, when doing these works with high theoretical generalization, it is indeed not easy, not simple. So what difficulties and obstacles did you encounter when implementing this series of articles, sir?

-Comrade General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, a journalist with nearly 30 years of experience working at the Communist Review, thoroughly understands the ins and outs of research and theoretical writing, once shared: “Working in any newspaper is difficult, each newspaper has its own requirements and difficulties. Working in daily journalism is already very difficult, but it must be admitted that working in theoretical journalism is even more difficult”. Comrade Nguyen Phu Trong also quoted the advice of the late Prime Minister Pham Van Dong: “Journalism is very difficult, very difficult; writing a theoretical article is even more difficult. Therefore, we must practice and practice diligently. We must practice a lot. Each person must practice and practice himself”.

Imbued with the advice of the General Secretary, we continue to learn from our predecessors at the Communist Review and understand that writing theoretical articles requires a lot of dedication, effort, and hard work. In particular, the perception of major relationships is a highly generalized process of theoretical awareness, a difficult and long-term process, clearly showing each step and each step of innovation and development in theoretical thinking, a vivid expression reflecting the level of maturity and theoretical development of our Party, so when writing on this topic, it also requires a systematic and elaborate research, including research, in-depth reference to secondary documents and expert opinions to deeply understand the problem, at the same time always cherishing, nurturing and trying to link things and phenomena to discover new ideas and problems in its inherently complex, but also very logical order... That is probably also the most difficult thing when writing theoretical articles in general and this article in particular.

But when the work is completed, seeing your “brainchild” born, that is also the moment that brings boundless happiness to writers. After the article was published, I continued to think about this great research problem, came up with some new thoughts, unfortunately I have not conveyed all of them into the content of the article, I will send them to other articles later.
