Nguyen Thuy Linh enters the final of the 2024 Vietnam Open Badminton Tournament

Compared to the previous matches in the round of 16 and quarter-finals, Nguyen Thuy Linh (ranked 26th in the world) had an easier semi-final match.

Nguyen Thuy Linh's opponent in the semi-final match taking place this afternoon is Lin Hsiang Ti (Chinese Taipei, ranked 65th in the world).

The first game of the semi-final took place with the advantage leaning towards Nguyen Thuy Linh. She easily defeated Lin Hsiang Ti with a score of 21-13.

The easy win in the first set gave Nguyen Thuy Linh a big psychological advantage. Therefore, despite being chased quite fiercely by Lin Hsiang Ti in the second set, Nguyen Thuy Linh still won this set with a score of 22-20.

In the end, Vietnam's number one female tennis player won 2-0 (21-13, 22-20), earning the right to enter the final. Nguyen Thuy Linh's opponent in the final will be Kaoru Sugiyama (Japan, the 8th seed of the tournament).

The final match of the women's singles of the 2024 Vietnam Open Badminton Tournament will take place tomorrow afternoon (September 15) at Nguyen Du Gymnasium (HCMC).
