Nguyen Thi Oanh, Le Thi Tuyet and the emotional Flag Raising Ceremony at Tien Phong Marathon 2025

In the sacred atmosphere, leading Vietnamese track and field athletes, such as Nguyen Thi Oanh, Le Thi Tuyet, Pham Huynh Yen Thu, Mai Quy Phong... attended the ceremony, expressing their respect and national pride.

Athlete Nguyen Thi Oanh, who has won the Tien Phong Marathon 5km for 8 consecutive times, shared: “I am extremely proud to attend the Flag Raising Ceremony and the Opening Ceremony of Tien Phong Marathon 2025. Especially when standing on the banks of Hien Luong - Ben Hai of the heroic land of Quang Tri , I, like all the other athletes, feel more deeply the sacrifices and losses of many previous generations, thereby reminding myself to try harder, to contribute more to be worthy of our predecessors.”

The moment the national flag flutters in the wind always brings strong motivation to the athletes participating in Tien Phong Marathon. For the female 42.195 km runner-up Le Thi Tuyet (Phu Yen), the tournament is not only a sports playground but also a meaningful journey: "Participating in Tien Phong Marathon helps me understand more about the history, national traditions and the resilience of many previous generations. That gives me more strength to strive on every kilometer of the race."

Also carrying that pride, Mai Quy Phong ( Quang Binh ) considers each step of running as a gratitude: "Competing on a route with a strong historical mark is a special experience. For me, running a marathon is not only a physical challenge, but also a way to express gratitude to those who sacrificed for the Fatherland."

Attending the Flag Raising Ceremony and the Opening Ceremony of Tien Phong Marathon for the first time, Pham Huynh Yen Thu (Phu Yen) could not hide her emotions. The moment the red flag with yellow star fluttered in the sky, blending with the heroic national anthem, aroused in her a strong sense of pride. " Standing under the national flag, I clearly felt the national spirit, the sacrifice and resilience of many previous generations. That is the motivation for me to compete with all my might, not only for personal achievements but also to contribute to spreading the spirit of sportsmanship and pride in Vietnam", Yen Thu expressed.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Hang, athletics referee, representing the referees, took the oath at the Opening Ceremony. With a clear and enthusiastic voice, she pledged to conduct the tournament with the most fair, objective and professional spirit.

Many Quang Tri people and amateur athletes also arrived early to attend the Flag Raising Ceremony and the Opening Ceremony of Tien Phong Marathon 2025.

Long lines of people and amateur athletes lined up solemnly along both banks of the Ben Hai River, at the foot of the historic Hien Luong Bridge, to attend the 2025 Tien Phong Marathon Flag Raising Ceremony.

“Standing in the middle of the historical land that used to be the border dividing the two parts of the country, I appreciate even more the meaning of peace and solidarity. This moment gives me the strength to enter the race with the highest determination," an amateur athlete shared.

After the Flag Raising Ceremony and Opening Ceremony, tomorrow (March 30), more than 7,000 athletes will officially compete at Tien Phong Marathon 2025. This year's tournament has the participation of many excellent domestic and international athletes.
