The team of Ho Chi Minh City University of Physical Education and Sports was crowned the champion of the 2024 THACO Cup after defeating the team of Thuy Loi University in a penalty shootout with a score of 4-2 (0-0 draw in regular time). In the achievements of coach Pham Thai Vinh and his team, many spectators certainly cannot forget Minh Nhat, the striker who left a strong impression in the hearts of fans with his brilliant performance.
At the first Vietnam Youth Student Football Tournament - 2023, Minh Nhat won the Golden Boot award. Coming to this year's tournament, this striker born in 2002 continued to prove his great goal-scoring talent. In the qualifying round of Ho Chi Minh City, the 4th-year student of the Faculty of Physical Education contributed 8 goals, out of a total of 21 goals of the team of Ho Chi Minh City University of Physical Education and Sports. This striker was also voted the Best Player of the qualifying round of Ho Chi Minh City.

The ability to run, choose a position and finish well helps Minh Nhat become a very sharp striker of the Ho Chi Minh City University of Physical Education and Sports. The 22-year-old striker seems to be able to do everything, from coordinating well with teammates to score goals, or "do it yourself", from finishing with the left foot, right foot, aerial combat and even free kicks. Notably, Minh Nhat's goals are mostly very important, helping coach Pham Thai Vinh and his team win or overcome difficulties. The classy free kick that pinned the ball into the far corner of the Van Hien University goal (bringing the quarter-final match into a penalty shootout) or the only goal against Dong Nai University of Technology (semi-final) are two of the many times Minh Nhat shined at the right time.

Minh Nhat made a great contribution to helping the Ho Chi Minh City University of Physical Education and Sports change the color of the medal, from third place to become the champion of the TNSV THACO Cup 2024. This championship became even more special for Minh Nhat when he won a hat-trick of prestigious awards, including: Top scorer (5 goals), Best player of the tournament and Most favorite player of the tournament (voted by the audience). He could not hide his joy: "We are the team representing Ho Chi Minh City, so we are determined to keep the cup in Ho Chi Minh City. It is great that the Ho Chi Minh City University of Physical Education and Sports team has achieved this goal. Regarding individual titles, I was really surprised, I did not think that I would win so many titles. My main goal has always been to strive with the whole team towards the championship, but luck has been with me, helping me win the secondary awards".
Minh Nhat dedicated the championship and personal titles to his family and girlfriend. "My parents have always supported me in pursuing my passion. In particular, my mother has always been by my side, encouraging me a lot. My girlfriend is always by my side, motivating me to play better," he revealed, and shared his plan: "For now, I will focus on studying to graduate. After that, if I am lucky and have the opportunity, I want to try my hand at professional football."
