The adventure of young player Nguyen Huynh Phuong Linh in Round 1 of the PBA Tour Billiards tournament ended when he lost to player Jung Ju Shin in the quarter-finals today in Korea.

After 4 convincing victories, Binh Phuoc native Nguyen Huynh Phuong Linh had a difficult and arduous encounter with the young talent of Korean Billiards Jung Ju Shin. Remember in the second round, Jung Ju Shin eliminated another strong Vietnamese player, who had won the PBA Tour, Ma Minh Cam, in the fateful penalty shootout. Jung Ju Shin is considered one of the young talents of Korean billiards.
In the confrontation between two young players from Vietnam and Korea, Jung Ju Shin showed his ability when leading the way of playing against Phuong Linh. In the first game, Jung Ju Shin had 2 big series of 4 and 6 points to win with a difference of 15/5. In the second game, Jung Ju Shin continued to throw a series of 8 points quite coldly to win 15/8, raising the score to 2-0 after being led by Phuong Linh 8/7.

The third game was considered the best game of the match when the two players had a "breathtaking" chase. First, Phuong Linh went through a series of 8 points to lead 11/2 then 13/5. Then, Jung Ju Shin responded with a series of 9 points to take the lead back to 14/13 and had the point to end the match. However, Jung Ju Shin did not handle the not-so-difficult ball well, so Phuong Linh punished him with a 2-point cue later, winning narrowly 15/14, reducing the score to 1-2.
With his elegant shots and skillful ball placement, Jung Ju Shin always had big series of points - that was the key to today's victory. Because at the time he was leading 9/7 in the 4th game, Jung Ju Shin launched a series of 6 points, ending the game with a score of 15/7, thereby winning the final match against Phuong Linh with a score of 3-1.

Although eliminated in the quarterfinals, this is still considered a successful result for Phuong Linh. He is the Vietnamese player currently ranked highest in the PBA rankings with a top 8 position. With this achievement, the player from Binh Phuoc will receive 5 million Won (about 100 million VND) in bonus for entering the quarterfinals.
Thus, all 6 faces of the Vietnamese Billiards village were eliminated in Round 1 of the PBA Tour. They will wait for Round 2, which will take place from July 2 to 10, to participate again.
