Risk of insecurity from border students going to streams to bathe and wash clothes due to lack of domestic water

Due to lack of water for daily use, more than 400 students of Trung Ly Boarding Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities, Trung Ly Commune (Muong Lat) have to go to the stream to bathe and wash clothes.

The distance from Trung Ly Secondary Boarding School to the stream for bathing and laundry is about 300m.

Many deep water locations with large rocks pose a potential safety risk to students.

On these hot days, after each class, hundreds of students flock to the stream to bathe. The school has had to assign teachers to supervise and manage to ensure their safety.

However, according to Mr. Nguyen Duy Thuy, Principal of Trung Ly Boarding Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities, managing and supervising to ensure the safety of the students is not absolute.

The water source from the mountain to the school is gradually running out these days.

Teacher Nguyen Duy Thuy, Principal of Trung Ly Boarding Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities, Trung Ly Commune, hopes to soon invest in a well and a water storage system so that teachers and students can proactively have a source of water for daily life, ensuring safety for students, and not having to go to the stream to bathe and wash.
