On the evening of April 19, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam National University, Hanoi) became a special art space. “Untold Stories” - the theme of the 15th Faculty of Literature Open Drama Night - not only recreated literature through a youthful lens, but also showed the potential for connecting art, education and national cultural identity through the creativity of young people.

Fairy tales that seem to have faded into memory such as "Tam Cam", "The Legend of the White Chrysanthemum", "The Legend of the Watermelon" or European folk tales are awakened by modern stage language and fresh emotions of today's student generation.

Not limited to the internal space, this year's Faculty of Literature Drama Night expanded its scale, attracting students from many units of Hanoi National University and a number of other training units. Participating teams such as Dong Du Van Nghe, Cay Ngọt, Stage Drama Club, K69 Cinema, HDC HUS... not only brought diverse performance nuances, but also shared the same spirit: renewing folk literature with carefully adapted scripts, simple and authentic acting, and above all, a deep love of art.

Folklore works are adapted into drama with a modern look.

Going beyond the usual stereotype of “student plays”, the show is not simply a grassroots performance. Under the systematic guidance of art majors, with the advice of a jury of famous artists and researchers, the plays have approached professional stage in both content depth and form of expression.

The jury consists of cultural researchers and famous artists.

Cultural researcher Nguyen Hung Vi - former lecturer at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam National University, Hanoi) commented: "The plays not only recreate old stories, but also convey the thoughts, perspectives on life and issues of today's youth. They have the ability to approach traditional culture with critical thinking, subtle emotions, and a very modern artistic spirit, full of contemporary vitality."

The young generation of students has brought special colors to literature and art.

In the context of teaching and learning literature, especially folk literature, increasingly facing challenges in terms of transmission methods and reception inspiration, programs such as the Faculty of Literature Drama Night are proof of a multidimensional approach, linking theory with practice, linking literature with theater, bringing literature closer to life.

For young people, literature is no longer a matter of books or exams. Literature is a living language to retell the past through today's perspective, to rekindle cultural memories, and to affirm the core values of humanity in the technological age.
