On September 27, Ea H'leo District Police (Dak Lak) handed over 320 million VND to Ms. Le Thi Lan (37 years old, residing in Ea Khal commune, Ea H'leo district) after she mistakenly transferred money into her account via a banking application.
Previously, on June 20, Ms. Lan transferred money on her phone and due to being in a hurry, she mistakenly transferred to Mr. NVL's account (residing in Hung Yen province).
Immediately after the incident, Ms. Lan contacted the bank for support. However, because Mr. L.'s account was inactive, the bank could not contact the account owner directly.
Worried that the money might be lost, Ms. Lan went to the police station to report it. The Ea H'leo District Police coordinated with the bank and sent officers to the locality where Mr. L. lived to meet him directly and discuss the incident.
Here, Mr. L. said that because the account was not used and he did not register for text message notifications, he did not know that Ms. Lan had transferred money by mistake.
This man is willing to go to the bank to withdraw all the money to hand over to the police to return to Ms. Lan.
Upon receiving the money, Ms. Lan was very happy because this was a large sum of money, which she had to save for many years to get. Moved by the police's involvement, Ms. Lan wrote a letter of thanks to the police officers of Ea H'leo district.
