(Dan Tri) - Despite receiving dedicated care from her family, doctors and support from Dan Tri readers, Bich's illness was so severe that her body was exhausted. On December 24, she breathed her last.
The unfortunate woman could not overcome her fate.
According to information from her family, Ms. Tran Thi Ngoc Bich (born in 1986, residing in Group 1, Mai Dong Ward, Hoang Mai, Hanoi) passed away at 4:14 p.m. on December 24 at her home.
Ms. Bich is the character in the article "Love for orphaned child, mother with metastatic cancer endures pain, saves money for child's education" that Dan Tri newspaper reported previously.
At the end of 2022, Ms. Bich was shocked to discover that she had stage 3 colon cancer. Despite her efforts to fight, the disease became increasingly complicated, the cancer had metastasized to her 2 ovaries, lungs, spleen and kidneys, forcing her to move around in a wheelchair during the months of treatment.
In her last days, seeing her health gradually fading, Ms. Bich tearfully told her mother and family: "I won't be able to live until Tet, Mom! I don't have any strength left, I'm exhausted, I know everything about my body. I'm unfilial and can't take care of you!"
Despite the pain and fatigue, Ms. Bich still tries to encourage her family and is always worried about the future of her two daughters, Nguyen Phuong Anh (born 2007) and Nguyen Minh Anh (born 2012).
Sympathizing with the difficult situation of Ms. Bich's family, Dan Tri newspaper readers and philanthropists everywhere joined hands to help.
The total amount the family received after 2 weeks of calling was 185,009,152 VND . The entire amount was transferred by Dan Tri newspaper to Ms. Bich's account.
Thanks to the support of kind-hearted readers, Phuong Anh and Minh Anh are somewhat reassured and continue their dream of going to school. At the same time, this money also helps Bich's children not have to shoulder the debt for their mother.
Thanks from family
In the pain of loss, Ms. Tran Thuy Ngan (Ms. Bich's sister) and Ms. Bui Thi Nguyet (Ms. Bich's biological mother) were moved to send their deep thanks to Dan Tri newspaper readers, doctors and the Social Work Department of Thanh Nhan Hospital.
"I was deeply heartbroken when I lost my sister. During her last days, she received love and affection from everyone. My family doesn't know what to say other than our most sincere thanks. Before my sister passed away, I felt somewhat reassured when I saw everyone caring for and helping the two children," Ms. Ngan emotionally shared.
The pain of losing her child is etched on Mrs. Nguyet’s pale face due to illness. Sitting in her deceased daughter’s dilapidated house, she anxiously shared:
"My two nieces are living in a leaky house. Every time it rains, water is everywhere. On rainy days, I worry about them because the plaster ceiling could collapse at any moment. Life is nothing but hardship and deprivation. Now that my daughter is gone, only my two nieces are left to shoulder everything. Their future is uncertain..."
Holding back her grief, Ms. Nguyet expressed her deep gratitude to all the benefactors and readers who helped Ms. Bich during her difficult days. The warm embrace of the community has somewhat comforted her deceased child and her entire family.
With a face of bewilderment and pain because her mother was no longer there, Nguyen Phuong Anh choked up and said: "On behalf of the whole family, I would like to thank all the uncles, aunts, brothers, sisters, and readers of Dan Tri newspaper for supporting and encouraging our family so much."
So after 2 years of fighting the terrible cancer, Ms. Bich finally could not overcome her fate. Hopefully, Phuong Anh and Minh Anh will be strong enough to overcome this great loss, grow up soon, fulfill the wishes of their deceased parents and have a better life.
